The #1 promoter on mp3.com, David Blumberg, has just signed rock cellist, Von Cello! The artists that Blumberg promotes are the most successful artists on the vast internet music site. They collectively have more hits and generate more money than any other group of managed artists.

2000 has been a very good year for Von Cello . He has been included in Who’s Who In America, has been accepted as a D’Addario Artist, won a grant from ASCAP, had his CD entered in the Grammys, and now this! Mr. Blumberg issued the following statement: " I am very excited to be including Von Cello in my Artist Roster. He is a performer of the highest level, and his potential is great. Many artists speak of their music being unique, but Aaron Von Cello's music truly is! Let's Rock em!!"

“Breaking The Sound Barriers”, Von Cello’s first CD, is a concept album; it is a classical crossover CD about a cellist crossing over from classical music to rock. It starts with the song, “I Used To Be An Orchestra Player”, and proceeds through songs about the challenges and joys of being an innovative musician blazing a new path for a traditional instrument. From a Hendrix inspired “Star Spangled Banner” (called “Anthem”), to the contemporary and humorous “Cello Player’s Rap”, this CD is truly a trip through the musical genres. It does reach its stated goal: blurring the lines between genres, especially between classical and rock. That Von Cello plays all the instruments and sings all vocals, is impressive. When you add the fact that he also did all of the composing, arranging, recording, programming and producing, it is truly a testament to the talent of this exciting new recording artist!

To hear his music on mp3.com, go to the following link:

http://www.mp3.com/voncello

All of the music on the CD is streamable. All songs but one are downloadable. The whole CD is currently on sale for the low price of $5.99!

The Von Cello website is also very impressive. For interesting resume and bio information, as well as a great photo history, articles and a really cool java scripted star shooter, go to:

http://www.voncello.com/

Von Cello states on his web site that he is now rehearsing with Von Cello...the band. The band is moving in a more hard rock/alternative direction. I’m sure we will hear more about this “breaking” situation.
