Enthusiastic Memphis Entrepreneur Marie Pizano Adds Radio Show To Her Ever-Growing Empire

Savvy business entrepreneur Marie Pizano continues to expand her rapidly-growing business empire, venturing into new territory with her latest pursuit as she partnered up with Memphis’ Zulu Zone, a talk radio program on WMQM 1600 AM.

“Memphis needs to be global again…they need to bring films, music and television production here to create a stronger economic growth through entertainment,” says Pizano. “If we work on this together, the state of Tennessee can flourish!”

The show, which airs Monday through Friday from 7 p.m. to midnight, will feature music from many of Pizano’s own talented clients. The first song that was aired on this show was Ike & Tina, from urban client Mack Rodd. With this hit song, Rodd launched a contest to find the best love story (as the song is touted as such) that will benefit the International Children's Heart Foundation (ICHF). Visit www.youtube.com/watch?v=fo5sNkLpTA for more information.

One segment of the radio program, “The Little Redd School House,” will play tunes from Pizano’s R&B songstress Redd Velvet, whose debut album Womanhood 101 includes 9 out 10 songs penned by the diva herself. “In these stilettos, no one will tell me I can’t have my babies on the radio,” said the formidable Pizano. “Sometimes you just have to do it yourself and make it happen.”

Pizano is also gaining a wider audience by streaming The Zulu Zone at www.MVP3Downlow.com or on her record label’s website, www.UROCmusic.com. Also on the show will be the “MVP3 DownLow” which will broadcast weekly updates on all Pizano’s music and film happenings she is working on. You can get the MVP3 DownLow by going to www.mvp3downlow.com/MVP3downlow/.

UROC/MVP3 Records, UROC Music Management, and Zazu & Valentina talent agency, two companies that Pizano has headed since 2006, were recently joined together, along with many of her additional business ventures, under the umbrella organization, MVP3 Entertainment Group. Along with the launch, MVP3 is bringing many projects to be filmed in Tennessee; one of which is Futch Tube, a new web series already getting some attention. Check it out at www.FUTCHTUBE.com. “Along with helping my clients build their careers, I will partner with my friends in the industry such as well-known producers, film directors and actors to start filming more in this area,” says Pizano. “I believe if people will open their hearts and minds to my creative ideas, innovative plans and see how I am building my company along with the foundation of truth & integrity, they will see how this can work with MVP3, they will really see how music is truly the universal language and the entertainment industry is always here even when the world around has taken a nightmare pill. It can be a successful venture with my team.”

Pizano’s numerous notable clients include actors Paulo Benedeti (Guiding Light, The Bold and the Beautiful, Wild Things), Steven Moreti (In Her Shoes, Invincible, Annapolis) and J.D. Hart (Bell Witch: The Movie, The Afflicted, The Shelter). Others include singer/songwriter/producer Jeremiah Tucker (Bernard Allison, Barrett Babers); Scottish singer/songwriter Stephen Laurence Harvey and Memphis based R&B artists Redd Velvet and Mack Rodd.

The highly talented Rodd will also be teaming up with respected Memphis-based songwriter/producer/guitarist Garry Goin and the Grizzlies house band for a special live performance during the April 2nd Memphis Grizzlies NBA game.

Also, industry icon Billy Falcon, one of her clients, & The Sowing Circle will perform March 24th at 1884 Lounge/Minglewood Hall in Memphis and Redd Velvet will be opening for him. “This will kick off the UROC summer series of concerts and bring two different genres of music to one stage…the theme of Let’s Come Together and make things happen,” says Pizano. Planning stages are also underway for a global broadcast concert on Veterans Day.

“I was able to get the attention of some of the most successful songwriters, musicians, actors and other film directors and producers who want to come help with some of my projects that are developing." It takes a lot of hard work and patience! There is no ‘I’ in ‘Team.’ I am very grateful and blessed that with a little help from my friends who believe in me, this dream will be a reality!”

As a successful woman in business, Pizano also serves as agent to Nashville country/rock duo, The Mulch Brothers, who co-wrote the song Steal You Away which is featured in Country Strong, staring Gwyneth Paltrow and Tim McGraw. She aspires to create unwavering hope and determination for women in the industry. In fact, she is making history by being only the second woman in Memphis to own an indie record company, following in the footsteps of Estelle Axton (STAX). With numerous pursuits in managing, consulting and producing with major movie producers, film directors and movie/TV productions under her belt, Pizano is putting that experience to the test by serving as Co-Producer on the pilot for a new show “Girls Night Out” with award-winning film director Steve Boyle. She also serves as Executive Producer and Music Supervisor for the upcoming television documentary/drama “MOMO: The Sam Giancana Story,” which is produced by well-known film and television producer Nicholas Celozzi and director/producer Dimitri Logothesis. Continuing her work in the film industry, she also serves as the Chairman of the Advisory Board Council of the ON LOCATION Memphis International Film & Music Fest, which will be held April 7-10. At this event, she is responsible for bringing in film director, Jeff Celentano, actor Tom Berenger and Latin sensation actor Jaime Camil.

“I think way out of the box, they say Fred Smith’s idea was crazy and would not work…now look…our world has FEDEX. My plans are to be the Fred Smith of the entertainment industry…big dreams, yes, but why not? These stilettos are made of titanium and I’m going for it!”

Pizano’s countless endeavors keep her exceedingly busy and is truly the modern Renaissance woman, doing it all well and with style. “I have a can and will attitude. I’m very passionate and if my plan of Let’s Come Together is recognized…we can be an army force of entertainment.”
