Amanda Davids Spreads Her Soul With Digital Release Of Distinguishable In Difference & Upcoming Tour Dates
For Immediate Release: March 26, 2012; Toronto, ON; Distinguishable in Difference, Amanda Davids long awaited debut EP, launched last month to a sold out audience at Torontos Orbit Room. The album has now been released for digital sales on iTunes, and lossless digital through Bandcamp; more outlets to follow. With her unmistakable funk sound, intertwined within an urban feel, Davids stays true to her classical and jazz roots as she sets out to permanently alter the music industry one Hammond Organ note at a time. Inspired by great vocalists such as Aretha Franklin, Ella Fitzgerald and Whitney Houston, you can gather those signature notes belted out through her music. Naughty Boy is a definite favourite of Davids, “it’s a perfect depiction of the fusion I had always envisioned. Just the right amount of funk, jazz, hip-hop and soul. When I need a pick me up I turn up the volume and enjoy its light hearted funk groove.” This powerhouse, on her quest to spread a little bit of soul has prevailed through a diverse range of performances including; Oakville Jazz Festival, RBC DesiFest, Rogers TV, and the September 11 memorial concert in New York City. Next on the agenda is her upcoming 14 day tour through Western Europe and a fall North American tour. “The upcoming UK tour is significant as the British audience has always been supportive of my music and I look forward to jamming my new material with them,” exclaims Davids. The UK tour which is taking place April 19-May 3, is special to Davids as she will be performing as an opener for JAZZIE B, the legendary UK Producer of Soul to Soul at the Hootananny. After 10 years in the making, Davids is making her mark in 2012. This album has become a musical and emotional depiction of the relentless journey she went through to discover herself and her music.
