Tom Gilbert Joins Mad Sun Marketing

Mad Sun Marketing, a boutique music and audio marketing and PR firm based in the San Francisco Bay Area, has added Tom Gilbert as marketing and PR associate. Having spent the last decade in Nashville, TN, as a touring guitarist and internet marketing specialist, Gilbert has held a number of roles within the industry, including booking and promotion, graphic design, branding, and live audio production.

"Tom's time spent as a touring musician with the band Parachute Musical, plus his experience in a retail music store environment, as an internet marketer, and as a lover of guitar gear will provide valuable insight for Mad Sun's clients," commented agency owner Laura B. Whitmore. "Plus, Tom is a great writer and communicator with a positive, get it done attitude!"

Mad Sun Marketing specializes in marketing strategy and execution, PR, artist relations, graphic design, eNewsletters, web development, event production, social marketing, advertising and materials, video and photo shoot direction, and more. With his experience in music and creative marketing, Gilbert will assist Whitmore as Mad Sun Marketing continues to provide services for brands such as 65amps, Guitar World Magazine, Dean Markley USA, Studio Instrument Rentals, Agile Partners, Notion Music, Colby Amplifiers, and more.

Mad Sun Marketing was established in 2008 by Whitmore, who spent two decades as the marketing manager for Korg USA, handling marketing for the Korg, Marshall, and VOX brands in the U.S. Prior to that, she worked in the Direct Marketing department of CBS Records. A singer-songwriter herself, Whitmore is the creator of the GuitarWorld.com featured blog series, Guitar Girl'd. Most recently, Whitmore organized the first annual Women's Music Summit, which took place in Upstate New York, and is about to launch a new hub for women in music, the Women in Music Network.
