Dangermuffin, Sol Roots, And Les Racquet Perform For Home Grown Music Network.

Three touring Home Grown Music Network bands perform in the heart of downtown Raleigh NC on Thursday Oct 25, 2012. Dangermuffin (rock, folk, americana), Sol Roots (funk, soul, rock), and Les Raquet (rock, reggae) all perform at The Pour House Music Hall. The Pour House is a main music venue in the south east US for touring top quality national and regional bands.

About the performing music groups:

DANGERMUFFIN
Home Grown Music Network's Featured Artist for August

New CD "Olly Oxen Free" currently #1 on the HGMN radio charts for 14 straight weeks!
On Dangermuffin’s 2010 release Moonscapes, the Folly Beach, S.C.-based trio sang about home. Even they couldn’t have expected the extent of that paradox — the album grew the band into a traveling national act, with songs on both SiriusXM’s Jam_On and Outlaw Country stations and slots at major festivals across the country. With their brand new follow up, Olly Oxen Free, Dangermuffin have returned home. No longer easily dubbed an Americana or roots-rock band, the group’s sound encompasses ska, calypso, and even Southern rock, often within the same song. Like the cry bellowed during a children’s game of hide-and-seek, Olly Oxen Free signals that it’s safe to come out from our hiding spots, gather back together, and celebrate late into the evening. Dangermuffin is more ready than ever to provide the soundtrack.

Sounds like: Band of Horses (i could sit here all day and try to think of some other bands they sound like but I can't)
Genres: Rock / Americana / Folk Rock

SOL ROOTS
Home Grown Music Network's Featured Artist for July

Sol Roots is a fierce guitarist and soulful singer who has toured the world with many roots, funk, and blues legends. Sol and his band create a unique blend of rock, blues, reggae, and raw funk, all delivered with deep soul, performing tasty original tunes and bluesy, greasy jams. Sol Roots has toured across the east coast U.S. at many premier festivals and venues and have been on bills with Jon Cleary, Soulive, The Wood Brothers, Robert Randolph, Jackie Greene, Eric Lindell, Walter Wolfman Washington and more.

Sol has performed on stage and in the studio with musical heavyweights Taj Mahal, Kenny Wayne Shepard, and with the international guitar hero Cool John Ferguson, who he performed with steadily for years. Sol has soaked in much from funk, blues, and soul heroes such as Roy Lee Johnson, Albert White, and Robert Lee Coleman, while touring and gigging with these artists. Sol also created a buzz with his underground blues hiphop album entitled “Volume: Blue," that carried him overseas to perform these sets live.

With a love of Universal Music as the guiding light, Sol steps out on a path with a unique and talented band of musicians.
Recommended for fans of: JJ Grey & Mofro, Eric Lindell, The Wood Brothers
