Born Mitchel K. Malizio on December the 27th, 1988 in the city of Pittsburgh, Pa Zio had an uphill battle from the very start. His birthdate was originally supposed to be set for Valentines Day 1989, however being born 2 months premature he fought for his life for close to 2 months in an incubator. Coincidentally he was released the day before Valentines day, a wild start to life indeed. Zio grew up in a single parent home for most of his early childhood, beings that his father was incarcerated from age 3-11. Undeterred, this young bright minded kid seemed to have an oracle aura about him. In less than 6 months after his first studio recording he captured the attention of Dwayne Muhammad founder of the Pittsburgh Hip Hop Awards, and became nominated as "The Best Male" hip hop artist in the city up against local rival Wiz Khalifa. A legal setback of a Florida weapons felony kept him away from the music scene. Fast forwarding to 2012, Zio is planning a slew of music for his faithful following. Zio's fans from MySpace.Com have followed him to Facebook.com and are now catching on to Twitter.com, YouTube.Com, and also Instagram giving him an overall internet exposure of close to 1 Million+ online hits! During his worldwide travels, he spent time meeting and establishing relationships inside the music world. Zio’s music has even attracted the ears of Vada Nobles, producer of Rhianna's “Pon De Replay", and along with his growing buzz Zio is a dedicated philanthropist always looking to help give back by doing free shows, food drives, and charity for the less fortunate. This “Steel Town” rapper proves its more than just lyrics and a beat, it’s about the journey of life, fulfilling dreams and chasing down aspirations.
