DENGUE FEVER (www.denguefevermusic.com), whose music is an exotic blend of Cambodian rock, Afro grooves, surf, garage and psychedelic music announced today they will be launching their own record label, Tuk Tuk Records this month. The label will be distributed via MRI in the United States and Canada and Proper Distribution (http://www.properdistribution.com/) throughout the rest of the world.

The first releases to be made available from Tuk Tuk Records will be the bands long out-of-print eponymous debut (2003) and their follow-up, Escape from Dragon House (2005). Each release will be expanded into a deluxe edition with rare and unreleased bonus tracks from the bands archive. Each title will be available for digital download from all major online retailers, including iTunes, on Sunday November 25 throughout the world (minus U.S. and Canada) and Tuesday November 27 in the U.S. and Canada.

The next slate of releases will be announced shortly and include new recordings, additional back catalog deluxe reissues, a rare album recorded at Peter Gabriel's Real World Studios in England, a live record recorded at multiple venues on their November 2011 tour of Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, solo material from each band member, releases from bands connected to DENGUE FEVER band members and more.

DENGUE FEVER has been touring the United States in 2012 and are currently working on new material in their home studio. This past summer the band made their debut in both Brazil and Mexico, toured the East Coast with Syrian artist, Omar Souleyman and toured the West Coast with Secret Chiefs 3 in January.

Since their inception in 2002, DENGUE FEVER's unique take on ‘60s Cambodian pop and American surf rock has garnered praise and attention from fans and critics alike. HBO's hit series True Blood named an entire episode after one of their songs and featured the band's music. More recently, DENGUE FEVER's music has appeared on CBS' CSI: Las Vegas, The Hangover 2 and numerous documentaries. Spin highlighted the band in their ‘Breaking Out' section, and profiles on the group have appeared in the New York Times, Mojo, Magnet, Wired, and NPR's "Fresh Air" and Radio Australia. Ray Davies from the Kinks called them "a cross between Led Zeppelin and Blondie."
