REPUBLIC RECORDS is proud to announce the promotion of Dennis Blair to Senior Vice President of Rock Formats.

"His work ethic and determination have proven inspirational for the entire team and led to incredible accomplishments for our artists. This promotion is well deserved!"
In 2011, as Vice President of Rock Formats, Dennis guided the department to immense success. Over the course of just a year, the label saw an unprecedented five number one hits. Those came from diverse young rock and alternative acts including GOTYE's multi-format smash "Somebody That I Used To Know", ALEX CLARE's ubiquitous "Too Close", OF MONSTERS AND MEN's "Little Talks", and VOLBEAT's "Fallen" and "Warrior's Call". Among the developing slate, "Young Bood" from THE NAKED AND FAMOUS became certified Gold by the RIAA for digital sales in excess of 500,000 as well.

In addition to working closely with marquee acts such as FLORENCE + THE MACHINE, new ANBERLIN, and GODSMACK, Blair will be spearheading crucial campaigns for SOUNDGARDEN, HINDER, and more in 2012.

REPUBLIC RECORDS Founder and CEO Monte Lipman extols him, "His work ethic and determination have proven inspirational for the entire team and led to incredible accomplishments for our artists. This promotion is well deserved!"

Blair enthuses, "We've been on a phenomenal roll here at Republic! I've been fortunate enough to work with the absolute best in the business: Monte, Avery Lipman and my team mate, John DiMaio. It is with great ardor that I enter this next phase of my career, and I can't thank them all enough."

Dennis joined REPUBLIC as Vice President of Alternative Promotion in 2008. Previously, he was Senior Director of Rock/Alternative Promotion for RCA Records. At RCA, Mr. Blair worked with such groundbreaking artists as the Strokes, Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, Velvet Revolver, My Morning Jacket, Kings Of Leon, and others. From 1999 to 2002, he started as a local promotion manager based in SF and promoted to Senior Director of Rock/Alternative Promotion for Maverick Records working with the Deftones, Prodigy and Alanis Morrisette. From 1993 to 1997, he was director of Rock promotion for Geffen Records.

He began his career in the music business in 1993 as an assistant to the President/CEO of Geffen Records, Ed Rosenblatt.
