Music+Sound Awards 2013: Extension To Entry Window
The entry window for the Music+Sound Awards 2013 has been extended to the 7th December 2012 due to overwhelming demand.
Launched in 2011 to recognise and celebrate the role of music and sound in Advertising, Film, Television and Gaming, the Music+Sound Awards is back for a second year this time hosting their ceremony at Troxy, East London. Once again they will be throwing away the black ties and round tables in favour of their more radical ‘indoor music festival’ styled awards ceremony.
Founders Nick Payne and Dan Neale say: “We have been overwhelmed by the response so far to the second Music+Sound Awards. Year one was great, but it’s become quite clear to us now that there is a demand for the event and the recognition and endorsement that the Music+Sound Awards offers.”
Last year saw awards presented to Music Sales and Albertos Iglesias for their work on “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy”, in the Best Original Composition for Film category; RKCRY&R and The Sync Agency picked up the award for Best Sync in TV Advertising for their work on the Virgin Atlantic “It” spot, featuring Muse’s version of the classic ‘Feeling Good’; and Bucks Music Group took home the award for Best Sync in Film for a single scene in the movie “Kill List”, featuring “It Could Have Been Better’ by Joan Armatrading.
The Music+Sound Awards not only provides a stamp of approval from leading industry professionals across the disciplines it rewards, but also provides those that supply and those that buy music and sound design a place and occasion to mingle and celebrate together.
Dan Neale says: “The delegate list at last year’s event was like a who’s who of London’s production, advertising and music industries. It was great to see so many people meeting, talking, celebrating and genuinely feeling proud of what they do for a living through the Music+Sound Awards.”
This year the Music+Sound Awards are supporting Nordoff Robbins, the national music therapy charity. In addition to fundraising surprises planned for the awards ceremony itself, all entrants have the opportunity to make a donation with their submissions and when buying tickets for the event.
The entry window for the Music+Sound Awards now closes on 7th December, with a voluntary £5 donation to Nordoff Robbins added to each entry. All entrants in the UK competition will also be automatically entered into the International Music+Sound Awards free of charge.

The Music+Sound Awards are the world’s first and only awards programme to recognise and celebrate the indispensable role and outstanding contribution that music and sound design play in the world of visual media.
Aimed at professionals working in advertising, film, television (branding and programming) and gaming, the awards are open to anyone who is or has been involved in the creation, composition, sourcing, licensing, briefing and/or production of music and sound design for any visual media broadcast or released in the UK.
The awards categories have been created to include the widest possible use of music and sound in visual media. They invite entries from television and cinema commercials, non-broadcast or viral advertising, branding and title sequence, feature films, television programmes and computer games.
Each of these areas will be judged for: Best Original Composition, Best Sound Design and Best Sync/ Use of Existing Music.
