OurStage.com Launches Unique Revenue Sharing Program - OurStage Pro
"At OurStage.com, we want to do everything we can to benefit the artists in our community—they're the lifeblood of what we do," says Scott Nelson, SVP of marketing at OurStage.com. "With OurStage Pro, we're giving yet another reason for our artist community to actively engage and work hard to promote their music, inside and outside of OurStage.com. The more they empower themselves through OurStage Pro, the more they can move their career forward in a variety of ways." Once artists are signed up as OurStage Pro members, they can quickly upload their music and begin promoting it on social media and other web destinations with an easy-to-use embeddable player. Whether fans listen on OurStage.com or via the remote player, any song that gets at least 90% played counts toward the artist's overall stream count. Each month, Pro artists' qualified spin counts are compared to each other, and there is a tiered group payout based on which artists have the most spins. The number of spins needed to land in the four different tiers will change from month to month, depending on how many total spins there are for all registered OurStage Pro artists. The money for the payout comes from a pool that includes Pro registrants' monthly fees, so the more artists that are signed up for OurStage Pro, the bigger the monthly payouts can be. "With OurStage Pro, we wanted to come up with a new system to help the OurStage.com artist community see additional revenue," says Jeff Kushmereck, EVP of product at OurStage.com. "By getting people to listen to their songs, OurStage Pro artists have the ability to get paid. It's as simple as that. And the more artists that sign up for OurStage Pro, the bigger the potential payouts can be."
