Sebastrian Williams “the most commanding pianist and composer to emerge in recent years” (Houston Village Voice), celebrates his new CD Keys Of Life, brings a fresh perspective to new jazz composition through a disarming blend of R&B, and contemporary music. His quartet of dexterous young guns, respected equally for their chops and adventurousness, lays down mind-boggling polyrhythms, twisting melodies. This Is What Happened transcends stylistic labels - as timeless music always does. The prodigious electric Rhodes and composer deliver a debut jazz music CD that dissolves the artificial barriers that are often created by such preconceptions. He sculpts a recording that is at once driving, thoughtful, sensitive and most of all, musical. Influenced by hit single “Mystery” and “Let’s Have Fun” Sebastrian is a young and seasoned veteran.

Sebastrian Williams is a largely self-taught he became known in the local music community as a talented musician who was equally adept in the jazz world as well as in concert music settings, and becoming one of the most on-call young musicians in the area. Besides being a musician fluent in an array of styles, Sebas is a very kind spirit type of person. “People are often unreasonable and self-centered. Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway, for you see, in the end, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway”. I drew from those words of wisdom which really inspired me to write my own original songs. But I reached a point where I started feeling restless and felt that I should spend time working on jazz and my own music. That did not happen overnight, and I continued doing things on the side including teaching, playing in church, occasional sessions.

Sebastrian, who has unlimited potential, has never lost his enthusiasm for growing and developing. “I often tell my students that I still have a beginner’s attitude; I always want to learn much more. I do not want to categorize myself because I am always evolving. I enjoy writing in every configuration, whether with a big band, a symphony orchestra, a duo or alone playing piano.
