Douglas Corner Cafe Presents A Songwriter's Round With Jane Bach, Sandra Piller, Nik & Sam, Billy Lee, And Duane Sciaqua On 12-12-12
Attracting Nashville's finest songwriters, the Douglas Corner Cafe is a legendary site for great performances in country music. "It's terrific to be playing Douglas Corner Cafe," states Jane Bach, who will be leading a writer's round in the famous venue on Wednesday evening, December 12. "We like the date of the gig, too: 12-12-12," Bach adds.
"The list of great singer/songwriters who have played here is impressive," says Sandra Piller, the Los Angeles-based singer who is on Shady Hill Records. "Douglas Corner has presented Alan Jackson, Trisha Yearwood, The Kentucky Headhunters, Mark Collie, Jewel, Billy Dean, John Berry, Blake Shelton, Garth Brooks, and many others," notes Piller.
An outspoken proponent of songwriter's rounds in cities from coast to coast, Bach is a Grammy nominated, multiple-award-winning writer of hit recordings by Reba McEntire, Ray Price, Jo Dee Messina, Tammy Wynette, Collin Raye, and many others. Bach's "The Last One to Know" is still one of Reba McEntire's biggest selling singles.
On stage with Bach and Piller in the 6-8pm show will be Nik & Sam and Billy Lee. Nik & Sam are two young singer-songwriters who have moved to Nashville to pursue their musical dreams. They are winning rave reviews for their great harmonies and terrific guitar-and-banjo playing. Billy Lee will be singing some of his well-known songs, including "The One," which became a Top Five hit for Gary Allan. Special guest Duane Sciaqua is an award-winning musician who has played with Paul McCartney, Glenn Frey, and Rodney Atkins and he will accompany Sandra Piller on guitar.
In the classic format of a round, each songwriter plays one of their songs, followed by the next writer, and the next, and so on. They can join in with each other, add harmonies, contribute a guitar riff, perform a little percussion, or just listen along with the audience.
Douglas Corner Cafe is located at 2106 8th Ave S #A, Nashville, TN 37204; Phone: 615-298-1688. The event is Wednesday night, December 12 from 6:00 'til 8:00 p.m. Admission is $5.00 at the door.
