Matt Blais Announces Release Of New Album 'The Heartbeat'

Calgary, AB alternative blues/ rock musician Matt Blais is proud to announce the release of his new album 'The Heartbeat' on February 26, 2013 to follow up his 2010 debut full length 'Let It Out'.

Matt Blais comments:

"Everyone always says they are excited about their new record. In this case though, I truly am more excited than I think I've ever been. I've learned a lot over my last years working as a musician and performer. I did things a bit backwards from the rest of the music world - I've been out honing this craft around the country. Then I made this record. I learned what audiences want to hear. Then I learned how I could produce that myself - so I could get it perfect. I found stellar musicians who not only had the chops to play these songs but the vitality to make the songs sound live, energetic and real. That's something I feel is missing from a lot of music today. I think "The Heartbeat" is some of the most creative work of my career and I can't wait to share it."

With the first single 'Running' hitting the airwaves and iPods across Canada, Matt is gaining comparisons to artists such as Sam Roberts, Matt Mays and Joel Plaskett.

Featuring ten emotionally charged tracks fueled by fiery rock and roll with smooth vintage soul. The combination of Blais' passion for song writing and high energy spectacles is why critics and audiences continue to grow in number with every step forward he takes. Plans for a 2013 cross Canada tour are in the works and will be announced at a later date.
