Altered State fans have begun the Anniversary Countdown to :[dos]: (!) 20 Spectacular Years (!) Oct. 5th, 1993.

Altered State, has given their fans the never released 4 track demo “Hyper-Violence”. Intended for "Trace”, the follow up to their 1993 second album :[dos]:, before their departure from Warner Bros. “Hyper-Violence” is an incredible collection of unique lyrics and unforgettable melodies filled with sincerity, insight, and emotion.

Gregory Markel, the voice of this transcendent band wrote, "I will not embrace the hyper-violence of these days, no matter what they say I will not join in the blood parade." Gregory Markel, a superb singer, guitarist, and songwriter, drafted another shinning moment of brilliance with "Hyper-Violence".

Drummer Chip Moreland states, "another almost forgotten gem, wow!" Moreland was magnificent in his drumming performance. Gifted guitarist Curtis Mathewson who consistently demonstrates his melodic finesse and snake-like guitar leads drives this masterpiece.

Dug deep from a fan's treasured collection (a gift from drummer Chip Moreland); as an added bonus to all fans is a recording of vocalist Gregory Markel's April 30, 1992 WDET Radio Interview. The audio posting of Gregory Markel's interview is a fun piece. Recorded at Pearl Sound in Detroit by Chip Moreland, it includes commentary from Curtis Mathewson, Producer Ben Grosse, and himself.
