NARM And Digitalmusic.org Welcome Muve Music, Dimple Records Representatives To Board Of Directors
Website: http://www.narm.com January 17, 2013 – NARM, the music business association, and digitalmusic.org, the home of NARM’s digital initiatives, have added two new members to their Board of Directors. Jeff Toig, Senior Vice President of Muve Music, and Dilyn Radakovitz, Founder and Owner of Dimple Records, will bring their companies’ unique perspectives to the board, allowing NARM and digitalmusic.org to continue serving the needs of its member companies. “Jeff and Dilyn are both stellar additions to the NARM Board, and we are excited to have them,” said Jim Donio, President of NARM/digitalmusic.org. “Muve Music is one of the biggest music subscription services in the U.S., while Dimple Records is one of California’s premier independent record stores. Together, they will bring an important point of view to the board that will be beneficial to all our members, digital and physical.” “I’m happy to join the Board of Directors on behalf of Muve Music,” said Toig. “It’s a very exciting time in our company’s history, as we recently passed the 1 million subscribers mark and continue to grow. We believe that Muve’s innovative new business model will be beneficial to the music industry in the years ahead, and I look forward to getting to work with my fellow board members.” “Independent record stores are an extremely important part of the music business equation, and NARM understands this,” said Radakovitz. “We have worked hard to keep physical music alive in Sacramento, and I’m excited to bring the lessons I have learned to the board to help achieve that result nation-wide.” Toig and his team developed and launched the award-winning Muve Music service in early 2011, growing the company to more than 1 million subscribers by the end of 2012, making it the leading on-demand music subscription service in the U.S. The project was developed and incubated within Cricket Communications/LEAP Wireless, where Toig previously served as Vice President of Product Management. Prior to these positions, he was a Founder of Virgin Mobile USA, spending 5 years with the company in a variety of leadership roles in data services, sales/distribution, and marketing. Toig has also served as Vice President at CSMG, a strategy consulting firm specializing in telecom and media. He earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and an undergraduate degree from Northwestern University. Radakovitz started her music career in 1974 when she and her husband, John, began a rack jobbing operation that covered the Northern California market. Together, they also co-founded Dimple Records, which today operates seven stores in the greater Sacramento area, including Dimple Books & Vinyl. As one of the most influential record stores in California, Dimple was the third member of The Department of Record Stores (formerly Music Monitor Network), with Radakovitz serving as the group’s President for three years before they hired a full-time leader.
