Dominic Pandiscia Named President Of Caroline Division Of Capitol Music Group

Bookmark and Share
Dominic Pandiscia has been named President of Caroline – the Independent Services division of Capitol Music Group, it was announced by Group Executive Vice President, Michelle Jubelirer, to whom Pandiscia will report. In his new position, Pandiscia is charged with building on the legacy of Caroline Distribution and EMI Label Services and expanding to offer a full range of services and new revenue streams for Caroline's artists, releases and label associations on a worldwide basis, including Marketing, Promotion, Commercial Development, Branding, Synch & Licensing, Lifestyle Marketing, Business Affairs and Finance. Pandiscia will be based in New York.

According to Michelle Jubelirer, "With Dominic's promotion to President and our renewed investment of resources in the expanded Caroline, we are committing to building partnerships with independent artists and labels, and providing them with the a la carte services they need to achieve their goals and expand their businesses. Dominic brings decades of experience to his new position, and under his leadership, Caroline will be a vital component of the Capitol Music Group."

Steve Barnett commented, "Dominic is a highly skilled executive whose leadership will be instrumental in the growth of Caroline, and integral to the overall success of the Capitol Music Group. I congratulate him on this well-deserved promotion."

Pandiscia said, "Making the move to Caroline is extremely exciting to me, and I thank Steve and Michelle for this great opportunity. We have created a music-focused company that is tailor-made to super-serve the promotional, commercial and marketing needs of the independent artist and label. I look forward to providing best-in-class services to help nurture, support, and partner with the independent community".

Prior to this promotion, Pandiscia was EMI Music Executive Vice President, Commercial & Revenue Development, overseeing the company's Label Sales, Commercial Strategy and Distribution teams for North America. He was also responsible for management of the company's ever-increasing streams of new and non-traditional revenue, including all Commercial Digital and Physical initiatives, Merchandise, Brand Partnerships, and EMI's Synch & Licensing divisions.

A highlight of Pandiscia's tenure as EVP, Commercial & Revenue Development, was his instrumental role in leading the Commercial team that worked with Apple Corps Ltd to secure the deal that brought The Beatles' music to iTunes in 2010, and collaborated with all parties on creation of the groundbreaking marketing and execution plans.

Pandiscia also launched EMI Label Services in 2008, the label service platform for Caroline Distribution globally. The division experienced much success under Pandiscia's leadership, including more than doubling U.S. market share from 2007 to 2010, achieving Top 10 debuts from Five Finger Death Punch, Twista, Bobby V, Raekwon, Ice Cube, Trina and Slash, as well as earning multiple gold and platinum single and albums, including Five Finger Death Punch, Twista, and Matt Nathanson. EMI Label Services also experienced much success globally, including receiving Mercury Prize nominations for I Am Kloot, and Sweet Billy Pilgrim. Additional artists and labels signed under Dominic's tenure include Peter Gabriel, Slash, Raekwon, Twista, E40, Secret City Records, Frontiers Records, Vanguard, Sugar Hill, Fabric, Alter Bridge, Peace Frog, Labrador, Tru Thoughts and more.

Pandiscia joined EMI in 1989 and has served in a number of senior level sales and commercial roles within the company throughout the past twenty years, including Senior Vice President of Sales for Capitol Music Group and, earlier, Head of Sales for Virgin Records in the U.S. Among the many artists he worked with during his tenure are Gorillaz, Katy Perry, The Rolling Stones, Ben Harper, LCD Soundsystem, Massive Attack, Spice Girls, Thirty Seconds To Mars, Amos Lee and The Decemberists. He also held a variety of roles at EMI Records and CEMA Distribution in the U.S.
