ShowGo.tv Launches At SFMusic Tech Summit

ShowGo.tv, the leader in delivering live music experiences from clubs around the world, launches its global concert streaming service. Founded by a group of cable, music and streaming media veterans, the pioneering live streaming concert service provides a turnkey, production and distribution solution to iconic clubs around the world.

"We spent 2012 building our network, signing clubs in four countries (the U.S., UK, Brazil and Italy), and developing technology to allow viewer control via touchscreen and delivery to mobile devices," says Brian Gruber, ShowGo.tv's founder and CEO. "We are now raising funds for expansion to achieve our ultimate vision: a rich mix of shows from the 100 coolest clubs in the world, 24/7, on any device, at a price affordable to 2 billion connected consumers."

ShowGo.tv is streaming from elite venues such as Yoshi's San Francisco, the Blue Note Milan and Jazz Alley Seattle-- featuring headliners such as Kenny G, Billy Cobham, Rickie Lee Jones and Shawn Colvin--the company is adding New York's iconic rock club, The Bitter End, and Small's, famous for its nightly midnight jams.

One prominent ShowGo.tv investor is the SFMusic Tech Fund, run by Brian Zisk, whose twice-yearly SFMusic Tech Summit convenes on February 19th. "I have seen many companies try to crack the code on streaming live concerts, often unsuccessfully. I am very excited about ShowGo.tv. I believe they have the right model, the right vision and the right team to build a global service that will quickly become the go-to place for daily, top quality live music."

Other investors include cable industry veterans Lou Borrelli and Paul Maxwell, and longtime Time Inc. executive and SF Opera board member Bob Ellis.

Reinventing the Economics of Livestreaming Clubs

The company has been working to change the economics of live production for small to medium size music clubs around the world. They have developed a suite of remotely controlled production tools that allow a ShowGo.tv operator to produce a live show from a mobile device as well as deliver to mobile devices such as iPads and iPhones, The company's mission is to open up brand new content opportunities with unique business models.

"After a year of development, ShowGo.tv delivers," says Gruber. "We built the content delivery network and wired the clubs, streaming within days of installation. And our platform is scalable, we can add more cameras, more clubs, more viewers with increasing efficiency. We see boundless opportunity with small to medium sized clubs of every genre."

Joining the Company's advisory board is Hugh Panero, co-founder and longtime CEO of XM Satellite Radio. "In building XM, we were intensely focused on premium, exclusive original content, including many live concert initiatives. ShowGo.tv is doing the same, pursuing an emerging opportunity with limitless potential, finding new ways to bring an unprecedented range of live music to a mobile, global audience."

Advisor Ron Stone is a longtime advocate for musician's intellectual property distribution rights, working with Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, The Eagles, Nirvana, Beck and Foo Fighters, to name a few. "One of my artists, Rickie Lee Jones had a great experience with ShowGo.tv and I've been impressed with the company's focus on providing artists new revenue opportunities and new ways to connect with fans."

Several more clubs will soon start streaming via ShowGo.tv, including TribOz, located in Rio de Janeiro's bohemian Lapa district.

"ShowGo.tv offers the potential for maximum impact, hence maximum enjoyment, maximum expansion of knowledge of the world's music and maximum participation in musical events," says TribOz club owner Mike Ryan.
