Indie Rockers, We Are Voices Release New CD "Tread Lightly"
Website: http://www.wearevoices.com Kansas City, MO Based Indie Rock Band, We Are Voices, has released their new CD, Tread Lightly independently through iTunes. Their single "Fighting Fires" is set to be featured on the upcoming Indie Anthems Compilation. The Indie Anthems Compilation is an on-going series that will feature some of the best up and coming unsigned and independent artists worldwide. Dateline: Los Angeles, California, March 5th, 2012 - Alternative Indie Rockers, We Are Voices have released their follow up CD, "Tread Lightly" independently through iTunes. Their track, "Fighting Fires" will be featured on the upcoming Compilation, "Indie Anthems". The compilation, which is produced by the WiFiPR Group to showcase new artists they have recently signed to their client roster, will come out as digital release only and be distributed at upcoming music festivals and industry events including SXSW in Austin, TX in March. We Are Voices includes members: Lucas Larson - Voice / Guitar / Piano, Bookman Greenlee - Drums / Percussion, Eric Baldwin - Bass / Voice / Synth and Carson Land - Guitar / Voice / Auxiliary. The band has been gaining momentum in both the local and regional music scene in the Midwest. They released their debut self-released album, "What Makes Us So Alive" in 2009, positive press and approving critics while immediately working on writing, recording and performing to hone their talents. Their rising popularity in Missouri has earned him them opening slots for National Recording artists including: Civil Twlight, Eisley, and The Working Title. When asked what they considered their greatest musical accomplishment to date, Eric Baldwin, bassist for the group, commented, "finishing and releasing our second full length album, 'Tread Lightly' and releasing it officially last month," We Are Voices sound draws comparisons to Coldplay, Explosions in the Sky and Sigur Rios. Their rich pop melodies and dreamy soundscapes combined with intelligent guitar work and intricate rhythms make them radio friendly to both college and AAA stations. Their influences are varied and include: Brand New, As Cities Burn, Coldplay, The National, Thrice, and Radiohead. Listeners will easily be able to hear the influence of Coldplay in lead singer, Lucas Larson's voice. When asked about what has influenced their songwriting Baldwin explained, "Most of our music is existential, and deals with topics such as loss, love, fear and purpose."
