Mauricio Abaroa & Claudia Brant Named SR. VPs Of The Latin Songwriters Hall Of Fame
Respected industry executive Mauricio Abaroa and Grammy-winning composer Claudia Brant, , have been named Senior Vice-Presidents of the Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame. Abaroa is the president and CEO of EarthTown Entertainment , the former President of A&R for Warner Latina and the former President of and executive director of the Latin Academy of Recording Artists & Sciences. Brant is one of the most prolific and award winning composers in the music industry and has won Songwriter of the Year for both SESAC and ASCAP; her songs have earned multiple Grammy nominations and the award for Song of the Decade by Billboard Magazine.
The addition of Abaroa and Brant brings a West Coast presence to the Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame which was founded last year by Grammy award-winning songwriter Desmond Child, a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and acclaimed producer and Latin Grammy founder Rudy Perez in order to honor the world's greatest Latin songwriters and their music in every genre.
The non-profit organization recently announced the names of the iconic songwriters who are to be inducted into the Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame: Manuel Alejandro (España), José Ángel Espinoza "Ferrusquilla " (Mexico), Jose Feliciano (Puerto Rico), Julio Iglesias (España), Armando Manzanero (Mexico), Concha Valdés Miranda (Cuba). These songwriters and additional special award honorees will receive the Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame's La Musa Award during its historic first induction ceremony Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at the New World Center in Miami Beach.
