Established by the American Legion in August 2011 the Veterans Success Center, located in the Veterans War Memorial Building, exists to assist veterans with all the resources needed for their transition back to civilian life. Serving Veterans of all Eras the VSC, the largest job search and placement facility in the the Bay, provides vocational training, placement and transitional housing as well as business and creative opportunities for our Veterans Community. Partially funded by Craigslist and CraigConnects Founder, Craig Newmark, additional funding is needed to defray the costs of maintaining the equipment and other office services Vets need. While the Executive Director and other managers of the VSC are veterans and volunteers, it is veterans who are employed to assist in the daily-to-day management. Fund raising is critical to the ongoing and successful operation of the VSC. This joint project of American Legion District 8, the VFW, and AmVets is in partnership with the San Francisco County Veterans Service Organization, the California State Employment Development Department, and the Veterans Administration Training Center.
This Benefit is one in an ongoing revenue generation process to support the VSC. The end goals are twofold, 1) to raise funds for programs and projects focused on funding the Veterans Success Center in San Francisco, and 2) to attract more Veterans of all Eras, primarily those under 35, to utilize the services provided.
Tickets for the event are $15 with a VetsFriend coupon and $25 at the door.
