The FADER, Inc. Expands Media Group With Addition Of AFROPUNK

New York, NY: The FADER, Inc., an extensive and authoritative group of music and lifestyle properties, has announced a yearlong, multi-tiered campaign with AFROPUNK: the media property and annual music festival dedicated to supporting fans of the urban alternative, hardcore, and indie rock scene. This audience and community has a direct influence on emerging pop culture through a movement that is strongly reminiscent of the energy of the early days of Hip-Hop. This partnership includes a yearlong promotion between the two brands involving numerous components to each property. Andy Cohn, President and Publisher of The FADER, Inc. made the announcement.

“AFROPUNK exemplifies our mission for The FADER, giving an editorial voice to an influential audience of consumers across the music and entertainment landscape,” said Cohn. “We’re pleased to be aligning our brand with AFROPUNK on a deeper level.”

In 2005, the first annual AFROPUNK Festival debuted at the iconic Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York, celebrating and unifying the cultural cornerstones of AFROPUNK: music, film, skate, and the independent and influential individuals that are the lifeblood of the AFROPUNK community. With this partnership, The FADER will continue to be the exclusive media partner for the AFROPUNK Festival, as it has been since 2011, and will now handle exclusive advertising sales for the property, and help to develop and promote additional initiatives coming up throughout the year.
