The Paper Jets Battle Doppelgangers In ‘Set Of Rules’ Music Video
- Album release party set for January 25th at Triumph Brewing Company in New Hope, PA
December 19, 2013 – Up-and-coming alt-rock/powerpop band The Paper Jets have released the official music video for “Set of Rules,” the new single from their debut full-length album, We Are All Strange Friends, which is scheduled for release on Tuesday, January 28. Directed by the band’s drummer and occasional vocalist Frank Lettieri, the video aims for a Josie and the Pussycats vibe, with a trio of female stand-ins lip-synching the track while the real band members scramble to get to the studio and stop them from stealing their song.
“This song is probably one of the most fun tracks we’ve ever recorded, so we wanted to make sure we captured that vibe in the music video,” said Lettieri. “Our hats go off to the girls (Susannah Foos, Molly Warren and Sandy Lawler) for really getting into it and turning this into something special; our good friend Drew Novelli (TV pitchman Jimmy Soppressata) for giving us so many hilarious takes we couldn’t figure out which one to use; and everyone at the Hill Theatre Studio in Paulsboro, NJ, who made us feel like part of the family while we were there.”

The band also announced that the album release party for We Are All Strange Friends will take place on Saturday, January 25, at Triumph Brewing Company in New Hope, PA. The Paper Jets will kick off the age-21+ show at 10pm, followed by a performance from PA-based country-rock band Levee Drivers. Tickets cost $5 apiece at the door, and pre-release CD copies of the album will be available for purchase.

About The Paper Jets
Consisting of Brian E. (vocals/guitar), Frank Lettieri (drums/vocals), and Scottie Maloney (bass), The Paper Jets were formed in 2005 when Brian and Frank, then students at Rider University, attempted a senior thesis project in which they recorded a full album using only “consumer” recording equipment. Since then, they have released the mini-LP Face Forward in 2009 and the live concert DVD Bored in Town in 2011, which was packaged with the odds-and-sods collection Sorta Bored. The band also recorded a cover of Bruce Springsteen’s “Atlantic City” for the compilation album My Hometown: A Tribute to NJ, released in July 2013 by FDR Records. All proceeds from the album go to the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund.
The band has performed live at significant venues such as The Trocadero and World Café Live in Philadelphia; The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ; Sullivan Hall and The Bitter End in New York City; and The Abbey Pub in Chicago. They have also played at the Stress Free Summer Festival in Croton-on-Hudson, NY; the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, DC (where they performed in front of the Washington Monument); and the Heritage Festival in Trenton, NJ.
The band is based in Princeton, NJ.
