TCI Turns 30! Announces New Management Division

2013 has marked TCI’s 30th year in business, as well as the start of our next chapter with the opening of our new Management Division.

We feel the key to TCI’s longevity in this industry is that we bring a personal-manager’s perspective to booking…our agency takes a long-term view on how live touring impacts an artist’s overall career, and our broad experience allows us to frequently step outside the traditional role of agent to meet our clients’ unique needs. Given the radical changes to the music industry in recent years, we felt this was the opportune time to expand our managerial services, and offer select clients a comprehensive approach to developing both their public profile and revenue streams. TCI’s Management Division will focus on maximizing the assets of our artists…their recordings, their live performances, and their image…by targeting, negotiating, and overseeing strategic partnerships with record labels, distributors, radio promoters, publishers, performing rights organizations, licensing companies, and corporations across the spectrum for branding, sponsorship and social media marketing.

According to TCI’s President and Founder, Margo Lewis, “Over the years, we’ve worked with numerous clients who did not have managers, and regularly found ourselves stepping into that role out of necessity. It was a natural step in our evolution to formalize our managerial services, and to look towards the future by taking on developing artists.”

Along with Margo Lewis, and Director of Touring and Artist Development, Chris Tuthill, whose 20+ year experience with TCI acting as a management rep and tour manager for R&B screamer the “Wicked” Wilson Pickett and Chuck Berry pianist/co-writer Johnnie Johnson, helped plant the seeds for this new endeavor, the Management Division will be spearheaded by the newest member of our team, Cindy da Silva. Cindy brings 11 years of experience in artist development, sponsorship, branding and special event production through her independent management company. Prior to her entry into the music business, Cindy held an executive position developing turn-key strategic marketing plans at telecommunications giant Verizon.

TCI’s Management Division will focus on a small and eclectic roster of both established and developing artists.

British Invasion icons, The Zombies, have enjoyed a tremendous year, starting with several over-capacity showcases at SXSW, followed by prominent appearances at Central Park SummerStage (opening the season with Django Django supporting), Milwaukee SummerFest and Bumbershoot. The band’s newest studio effort, “Breathe Out Breathe In” was released by RedEye in North America, they debuted their first-ever music video for the single “Any Other Way” (premiered by RollingStone.com and Vevo), had “Time of the Season” sampled/covered by Eminem on his new album, had their music featured in the Summer blockbuster “The Conjuring” as well as upcoming campaigns for Coco Chanel and Christian Dior, received their first Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame nomination, and have an upcoming photo feature in Sony’s new fashion/lifestyle magazine “Spirit & Flesh”. TCI’s Management Division will represent The Zombies world-wide, and will continue to handle their live bookings in North America, while Agency Group founder, Neil Warnock, has been appointed as their agent for the UK and Europe.

Turkish Rock superstars, maNga, are poised for international success. Recent winners of the prestigious Eurovision Contest and MTV’s “Best European Act”, the band is now being courted by labels and sponsors following their US showcases at SXSW and CMJ, while they finish recording their 5th Turkish album, mixed by Michael Patterson (Nine Inch Nails), which will be translated into their first English-language release.

Et Tu Brucé visited the States from West London three times in 2013, starting with their American debut at SXSW, which scored them a deal for their first album “Suburban Sunshine” with SonaBLAST! Records, followed by two national tours supporting The Zombies, a featured slot on SESAC’s CMJ showcase, an acoustic session and interview with Dave DiMartino for Yahoo! Music, and a Paste Magazine premiere for their “Pearly” video. UK and US tours are in the works for 2014 to coincide with the release of their sophomore album.

Prolific Jazz/R&B/Soul songwriter and pianist Noah Pine has already released three critically-acclaimed EPs independently and built a following in venues throughout his hometown Atlanta. He will be making his New York City debut to showcase during the prestigious Association of Performing Arts Presenters conference in January, with shows January 11th at Pete’s Candy Store in Brooklyn and January 12th at Pianos in Manhattan.

Singer, songwriter, producer and arranger Bruce Sudano is returning to his acclaimed solo work with the release of “With Angels On A Carousel”, after spending decades behind the scenes. He first entered the charts in the 1970’s as a member of Alive N Kickin’ and Brooklyn Dreams, and went on to co-write hit songs, including “Starting Over Again” (charting #1 for Dolly Parton and #3 for Reba McEntire) and “Bad Girls” for his longtime musical partner and wife, the late R&B/Dance icon, Donna Summer.

Self-described “Crazy Soulful Arab Punk”, Ladyboi, has his sights firmly set on the Top 40 charts, with undeniably solid, catchy hooks reminiscent of Prince, Madonna, and George Michael. Towards this end, he has partnered in the studio with Minneapolis powerhouses Michael Bland (Prince, Soul Asylum), Ryan Liestman (Jonas Brothers) and John Fields (Demi Lovato, The Jonas Brothers, Pink),

TCI continues to expand our Agency division as well, with the addition of agent Sam Kogon, and administrator Lisa Fabris, who oversees our Contract Department, joining veteran agents Mitchell Karduna and Mike Oberman and Business Affairs Director Faith Fusillo. TCI’s diverse agency roster includes The Yardbirds, The Association, Carl Palmer’s ELP Legacy, Jay and the Americans, The Strawbs, Zebra, The Brooklyn Bridge and Sons of Cream.

We are very excited to be setting the stage for TCI’s next 30 years.
