Warner Music Strengthens Marketing Teams For Warner Bros. Records And Warner Music International

Bookmark and Share

Warner Music Group (WMG) announced two appointments designed to expand the creative and marketing functions for both Warner Bros. Records and Warner Music International. Dion Singer has been named EVP, Creative Marketing, Warner Bros. Records, based in Los Angeles. Beth Appleton, formerly Marketing Director, Warner Music Australia, has been named SVP, Marketing, Warner Music International, based in London.

Having worked for Warner Music for 18 years across a number of creative functions, Singer will report to Cameron Strang, Chairman & CEO Warner Bros. Records, and will be responsible for all aspects of marketing popular acts. He will build innovative strategies and deliver promotional assets to shape artists' brands, develop their careers and enhance the reach of their music. Singer will work alongside Brian Frank, Executive Vice President, Marketing & Strategy, Warner Bros. Records, who joined the label in September.

Cameron Strang commented, "Dion is a world-class marketer with a unique approach that yields impressive results, and he has played a key role in the international success of many of our top artists. His appointment is another important step in ensuring we are providing the most innovative and engaging campaigns for our incredible roster of emerging and established acts."

Dion Singer said, "Warner Bros. Records has an amazing legacy and continues to produce some of the greatest music and most exciting artists in the world. I'm proud to continue that tradition and look forward to working with Cameron and the whole team to champion and promote outstanding new music."

As SVP, Marketing, Appleton will report to Stu Bergen, President, International, Warner Recorded Music. In this role, Appleton will provide creative support and guidance to affiliate teams across the globe to maximize promotional and commercial opportunities for artists.

Stu Bergen said, "Beth has done a fantastic job and she is respected by media partners, artists and managers alike for her sophisticated understanding of the modern entertainment landscape. She knows the results that can be achieved by thinking and acting globally, and I am confident that her broad expertise will make her a valuable asset as we build on our recent international successes."

Beth Appleton commented, "I'm thrilled to be taking on this new role at the heart of our International network, helping to shape new ways of connecting music to a wide range of audiences. There is a very strong marketing team in place at Warner and I look forward to working with them on new initiatives to break new talent."

Singer previously served as SVP of International Artist Development at WMG in London, overseeing consumer marketing strategies. He has worked to develop the careers of Madonna, Green Day, Fun., Josh Groban, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jason Derulo, Enya, and Phil Collins, among others. He has been a tireless champion of Michael Bublé, as the singer has risen to become one of the biggest superstars in the world today. Singer joined Gallo South Africa (now Warner Music South Africa) in 1995, where he worked in various positions including A&R Director and General Manager. In 2003, after South Africa was the first International market in the world to break Josh Groban and Michael Bublé, Singer was asked to join Warner Bros. Records in London.

Appleton joined the company in 2011 and over the last two years has overseen marketing and digital operations. Prior to moving to Australia, Beth was Digital Director at Universal Music UK, following the acquisition of V2 where she also worked as Digital Director. Appleton began her career in the music industry in 1995 working for EMI Records.
