Washington, D.C.’s Jazzy Soul Crooner, KENNY WESLEY, Selected To Present His NEW Music In The Cutting Through The Clutter Session At The Jazz Connect Conference At APAP In NY!

Washington, D.C. - Kenny Wesley, 2nd place winner at the 2013 Montreux Jazz Voice Competition, is hitting the road again. This time he has been selected along with three other artists to present their new music/projects in the Cutting through the Clutter Session on January 10, 2014 at the Jazz Connect Conference at APAP in NYC.

The Jazz Connect Conference, organized by JazzTimes in conjunction with the Jazz Forward Coalition, takes place January 9-10, 2014 at the Hilton New York Hotel.

Cutting through the Clutter: An Interactive Session
Friday, January 10
10:45-11:45am

A panel of experts from various professional sectors (e.g. magazine, web, record company, radio, etc.) will analyze 4 to 5 projects to see if they are ready for prime time and suggest ways to make them better. Members of the jazz community are encouraged to solicit materials.

Panelists: Michael Kline (Exit O International Jazz Festival); Jana La Sorte (Ambassadora); Jason Olaine (Jazz at Lincoln Center); Jon Poses (National Pastimes Productions)

The conference will be held January 9-10, 2014 at the Hilton New York Hotel in New York City and will feed into the annual APAP (Association of Performing Arts Presenters) Conference as well as Winter Jazzfest. Continuing the momentum from the January 2013 event which tripled to over 1,000 registrants, the Jazz Connect Conference in 2014 will feature a series of essential workshops, panels and events held over the course of two days.

Tying for 2nd place in the 2013 Montreux Jazz Voice Competition in Switzerland in July, Kenny’s music has been featured on Fox's "So You Think You Can Dance" and ABC's "The View", and he is affiliated with ad campaigns for Supercuts' Rock The Cut & Notion Music's 'You Are Next'. Known for his impressive vocal range and high-octane live shows, Kenny is a 3-time WAMMIE nominee and has shared the stage with numerous artists including Anthony David, Eric Roberson, Sy Smith, N'Dambi, Vikter Duplaix, and Leela James; and has headlined at notable venues including The Kennedy Center, Blues Alley, The Blue Note, Apollo Cafe, and The Birchmere.
