Live Nation And Comcast Extend Partnership, Naming Agreement

Comcast and Live Nation announced a four-year extension of their current seven-year agreement, giving Comcast the naming rights to Hartford's premier music venue through 2019. The amphitheater, formerly called the Comcast Theatre, has been renamed the Xfinity Theatre. The renaming of the venue reflects the Xfinity brand's strong awareness and resonance with consumers.

"We are excited to lengthen our agreement with Live Nation and to place the name Xfinity on one of the most-loved entertainment venues in Connecticut," said Mary McLaughlin, Senior Vice President of Comcast's Western New England Region, which is based in Berlin, Connecticut. "Our Xfinity brand represents our commitment to delivering an unparalleled, innovative entertainment experience to local consumers, and our partnership with Live Nation underscores this promise."

The Xfinity Theatre, owned and operated by Live Nation, can accommodate 25,000 people and hosts approximately 20 concerts per year.

"Over the last four years, Live Nation and Comcast have developed a strong and rewarding partnership, and we are delighted to extend our relationship through 2019," said Jim Koplik, Live Nation President, Connecticut / Upstate New York. "We look forward to working with Comcast to make the newly rebranded Xfinity Theatre an entertainment destination for people from across New England and beyond."

Comcast's sponsorship at the Toyota Presents the Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford, Connecticut is also changing to Xfinity branding.
