TAF Madrid Joins The Institute’s International Partners Network
The Institute is delighted to announce that music school TAF (The Artist Factory), based in Madrid, Spain has joined the Institute’s international partners’ network as an Associate School.
The school is at the heart of an en exciting multi-media centre based on the outskirts of Madrid. The purpose built complex houses a fully specified professional recording studio with an impressive client list that includes Shakira. In the basement is an independent 300 capacity venue, with tie-lines into the studio and complete with a fully professional light and sound installation, which is often used to broadcast and record live events and many regular gigs. TAF also runs a professional rehearsal and band storage facility!
The aim of the International Partner’s Network is to identify and connect schools throughout the world that share the same values and commitment to quality education. It has been conceived so that schools at a range of sizes and stages of development may engage.
Through the Network schools may share good practice, provide support and guidance on development, promote the value of contemporary music education and provide exciting developmental opportunities to all students; its ultimate goal.
The network is structured to allow schools at a range of stages of development to join and interact with each other
Pete Whittard, International Development Director at the Institute, commented; ‘TAF is an amazing and inspirational place for students to start to build their careers. I am delighted to welcome them to the Network’
Director of TAF, Vanessa Blanco, commented: “…After my first Conference Call with Pete Whittard I had a great feeling because we had the same vision and understanding of what a Professional Contemporary Music School should offer to its students. Besides the obvious, a structured syllabus and good teachers/musicians who enjoy teaching, it all comes down to be able to expose students to real life music experiences and intercultural exchange. This is why creating a network among top international contemporary music schools is a stepping stone for education in contemporary music, not only does it make it easier for our students to find what best fits their interests and musical objectives but it also offers a seal of quality. I want to thank, in the name of TAF, Pete and The Institute for all the effort in giving life to the Network and for choosing our school to become part of it. This will be the beginning of new opportunities for students, teachers and schools all over the world.”
