Singular Sound Launches BeatBuddy™,

World’s First Guitar Pedal Drum Machine

MIAMI BEACH (January 6, 2014)—Good drummers are hard to come by and many performance venues lack the space for a drum kit. In addition, conventional drum machines are cumbersome and difficult to program for jamming or playing live.

Singular Sound solves all of these issues with the launch of BeatBuddy™ (www.mybeatbuddy.com)—the world’s first guitar pedal/drum machine that makes it easy and convenient to fill out the sound of any musical combo with great-sounding drums.

In a testament to the musician community’s enthusiasm for such a useful device, the BeatBuddy achieved full funding of its Indiegogo campaign target within a mere 20 hours. BeatBuddy carries a projected street price of $350, but is available for $199 to the first 2,000 Indiegogo supporters who help with the funding, which closes on February 4, 2014.

“This is the most successful crowd-funding launch for a music accessory product to date,” said BeatBuddy inventor David Packouz. “The results of this campaign prove that there is a real demand for a simple, user-friendly product that sounds great and does what no other device has done before.”

BeatBuddy is the perfect accessory for guitarists, bassists and keyboard players. Unlike commercially available drum machines, BeatBuddy is a small, single pedal that offers hands-free, real-time creative control of beats that perfectly complement songs, making it ideal for solo players, singer/songwriters and music educators.

BeatBuddy comes pre-loaded with 10 unique drum kits and includes more than 200 verse/chorus beat progressions in a variety of styles—and up to 32GB of additional content can be loaded on the optional SD card with included PC/Mac interface software, enabling practically unlimited customization. It effortlessly inserts fills, transitions from verse to chorus, and adds accent hits such as cymbal crashes and hand claps to create an unprecedented live drummer effect. Other features include tempo adjustment via a knob or tap tempo, hands-free song advance and tap tempo control, MIDI sync for integration with MIDI-based devices, a headphone jack, SD card slot, mini USB connection, full stereo sound, and a computer software interface to enable users to load and arrange their own content.

What really sets BeatBuddy apart is the sound quality: Singular Sound partnered with world-class GoranGrooves Studio to create content using top-of-the-line recording equipment, session players and high-quality drums and percussion. What’s more, MIDI beats are not quantized and each drum is multi-sampled at various dynamic levels for ultra-realistic natural sound. Future enhancements will include new beats and drum sets in both free and premium content packages, along with a forum that will allow BeatBuddy users to upload and share their custom beats and drum sets.

“I view the BeatBuddy as a platform, not just a pedal,” said Packouz. “It puts the power of a live drummer right at your feet. Literally.”
