Hit Songs Deconstructed and the Music Producers Forum have partnered to launch the Music Industry Meetup NYC (www.hitsongsdeconstructed.com/MusicMeetupNYC), an event that will explore the craft of writing and producing hit songs for success in today’s global music industry. From songwriting and arrangement, to production and engineering, this Meetup will open the discussion on the impact of the latest music trends and technology.

The Music Industry Meetup NYC will take place at the SAE Institute Chelsea Campus on Thursday, January 23rd at 6:30PM. The evening will feature presentations by songwriter, producer & performer JJ Appleton (Ke$ha, Jamie Cullum, Newton Faulkner, Pete Yorn, Edwin McCain, Sister Hazel, Joan Osborne, Tom Jones, Keb Mo, Hootie and the Blowfish), veteran mixing and recording engineer Paul Falcone (Anita Baker, Robin Thicke, Mary J. Blige & Jennifer Hudson) and David Penn, founder of Hit Songs Deconstructed. Presentations will be followed by a networking reception.

JJ Appleton in his presentation on music for advertising, TV and film, will discuss the creative, technical and business skills one needs to develop in order to make a living as a songwriter, composer, producer and musician working with visual media. In depth explanation of workflow, creative collaboration and current business practices will be covered.

Paul Falcone will be providing his insights and experiences as a veteran mixing and recording engineer. During his presentation he will discuss best practices for getting the best results in any environment, including a project or home studio, DAW mixing vs. traditional analog mixing as well as when and why to bring a project to a large format studio.

David Penn will be sharing hit songwriting tips, techniques and trends culled from the songs that are currently topping charts. Whether you’re a songwriter, producer, A&R, or anyone else within the industry, you will come away with immediately actionable insights geared to take your success potential to the next level in a very competitive, fast changing musical landscape.
