Appetize Announces 2014 Partnerships With Madison Square Garden, Bonnaroo And Qualcomm
LOS ANGELES, JANUARY 17, 2014 – Major venues, festivals and artists have partnered with Appetize in 2014 to provide a technologically advanced, mobile commerce-ordering platform to their respective concession and merchandise businesses.
Venue operators such as Madison Square Garden and the Wells Fargo Center are currently utilizing the Appetize platform to facilitate in-seat ordering for event attendees. Fans can now order food, build custom drinks, purchase merchandise and securely checkout through a seamless and easy experience. At Appetize venues, Appetize has delivered an impressive 10% seat-to-order conversion rate and a 240% increase in average number of orders from its first night in use. The platform boasts features from “last call” push notifications, engaging advertising opportunities, and the venue’s ability to use the white label SDK. Appetize offers complete flexibility in engaging fans with a simple and interactive user interface while empowering venue operators with important analytical data to deliver richer customer insights.
Venues are not the only entertainment channels experiencing the positive disruptive change of the Appetize platform. Equipped with 100’s of Appetize-powered iPad’s, festival employees at Bonnaroo, Governor’s Ball and other major festivals will interact directly with festival attendees to receive and fulfill orders in a matter of seconds. Employees will enter food and merchandise selections, easily process credit card and cash transactions and fulfill their orders utilizing a seamless ordering experience. In 2013, Music Midtown tripled total credit card sales with the help of Appetize, boasting an impressive 30% increase in average order sizes with credit versus cash. This service will be a first for many festivals this year and will dramatically reduce concession lines, while increasing overall revenue.
Through a unique partnership with Qualcomm Retail Solutions, Appetize will continue to pioneer new payment methods by utilizing the Gimbal Proximity and Pay products to harness the power of innovative geo-fenced location based technology and deliver a truly transformative ordering experience. Through the power of the Gimbal proximity beacons, event customers won’t need to take out their cash, credit cards or even smart phones for payment. Linked to a payment method stored in the cloud, customers can simply be in proximity of an Appetize point of sale unit and checkout can be quickly and securely completed.
Artists on tour, such as Cyndi Lauper and Tenth Avenue North, now have the ability to accept credit cards in any venue or festival, track merchandise sales in real time and predict inventory needs for their next tour stop due to their partnership with Appetize. From geo-fenced promotions to proximity payment solutions to social media integration, Appetize’s vibrantly analytical platform provides artists with increased engagement with their fan base, richer customer insights for their merch operations and new channels to boost revenue for their business teams.
“Appetize is changing the concession experience for artists, festivals and venue events across the country. Event patrons now feel more engaged with event festivities because they are spending more time enjoying their favorite song from their favorite artist or the athletic prowess of their favorite sports teams rather than waiting in lines at concession stands. We look forward to powering Madison Square Garden, Bonnaroo, Governor’s Ball and major touring artist’s concessions and merchandise operations in 2014 with truly customizable, mobile ordering solutions,” said Kevin Anderson, Director of Business Development at Appetize.
