ASCAP Promotes Jennifer Harmon, Jeff Jernigan, Jamie McLaughlin And Evan Trindl To Directors, Creative Services

Bookmark and Share

ASCAP Vice President of Creative Services, Pop/Rock Marc Emert-Hutner and ASCAP Vice President of Creative Services, Film & TV/Visual Media Shawn LeMone announced the promotions of Jennifer Harmon, Jeff Jernigan, Jamie McLaughlin and Evan Trindl to Directors of Creative Services. Harmon and Jernigan will report directly to LeMone in the Film & TV/Visual Media department; McLaughlin and Trindl will report directly to Emert-Hutner in the Pop/Rock department. In their new roles, each will help oversee ASCAP's vast client base, focusing on acquisition and retention of prominent members while discovering and deploying creative solutions that contribute to ASCAP's strong market share growth.

Commenting on Jennifer Harmon's promotion, LeMone said: "Jen has consistently proven to be an incredibly valuable problem solver and all-around utility player at ASCAP. In addition to her years co-producing our LA Film Scoring Workshop, Jen has been an instrumental contributor to many other events including our outreach at the Game Developers Conference, ASCAP 'I Create Music' EXPO and numerous film festivals. She has identified many upcoming composers and nurtured their careers while also being asked to spearhead some very complex and high profile projects on behalf of the department."

Jennifer Harmon began her career at ASCAP as a member of both the Rhythm & Soul and Film & Television Membership teams, alternately taking calls from chart-topping R&B/rap artists and film & TV composers. In her life before ASCAP, she worked in academic research in psychology and neuroscience and is published in both fields. Now she applies her analytical training to researching domestic and international royalty issues for ASCAP members. Her continuing passion for educational outreach has led her to co-produce ASCAP's Television & Film Scoring Workshop with Richard Bellis, and to take the lead with ASCAP's partnerships with Film Independent's Project Involve and Education Through Music - Los Angeles.

Commenting on Jeff Jernigan's promotion, LeMone said: "Jeff has increasingly elevated his contributions and level of responsibility as one of ASCAP's most impactful membership representatives. His knowledge and ability to work with members and staff from different areas including pop and musical theatre have greatly expanded our outreach and capabilities in the Film & TV department. He is consistently innovative and has taken a leadership role in producing many of our flagship events, such as our annual Film & TV Music Awards."

Jeff Jernigan is an essential part of ASCAP's Film & Television department, representing ASCAP members and providing them with career development services and support. During his time at ASCAP, Jeff has worked on cultivating personal relationships and continues to help composers and songwriters get recognized. His knowledge and genuine passion for the industry make him a true advocate for music creators. Jeff co-produces ASCAP's annual Film & TV Music Awards, is on the board of the Association of Independent Music Publishers (AIMP) and is a member of the World Soundtrack Academy (WSA). Prior to his position at ASCAP, Jeff worked at BMG Music Publishing.

Commenting on the promotion of McLaughlin and Trindl, Emert-Hutner said: "Evan and Jamie have been instrumental in the continued strength of ASCAP's repertory in Pop and Rock. They discover, encourage and nurture the talents of ASCAP members at all stages of their careers. Each of them has been involved in the successes of a variety of artist development programs at ASCAP including showcases, workshops and mixers. I am very pleased to recognize their significant contributions with these well-deserved promotions."

Jamie McLaughlin joined the Pop/Rock membership team in January 2012. In her short time at ASCAP, McLaughlin has made a mark by affiliating acts like Big Sean, HAIM and The Ceremonies. She continues daily to acquire and develop talent within the Pop/Rock department and throughout the company. Prior to joining ASCAP, Jamie worked at Roc Nation under the guidance of Jay Brown, acting as day-to-day manager for Brandy Norwood, Melanie Fiona and The Ting Tings. She also assisted in Roc Nation's songwriter-producer management division. Jamie first connected with Jay while working as a promotions assistant at Epic Records in New York. She attended William Patterson University in Wayne, NJ where she studied Music Business.

Born and raised in Chicago, Evan Trindl moved to Los Angeles to launch his career in the music business. During his time at ASCAP, Evan has primarily focused his efforts in programming company showcases, events and awareness initiatives both locally and at Sundance Film Festival, SXSW, CMJ, Noise Pop, ASCAP "I Create Music" EXPO, Lollapalooza, Vans Warped Tour and others, in addition to developing songwriter and artist members ranging from emerging talent to Top 40 hitmakers. When not in the office, you can find Evan hanging at any number of the music venues around town, playing basketball, hiking or checking out the new restaurants in his Downtown LA neighborhood. He is a graduate of Miami University where he majored in Finance and Accounting.

In addition to these promotions, Gali Firstenberg has been promoted to Associate Director for the Pop/Rock department, and Rachel Perkins has been hired as a new Membership Representative for the Film & TV/Visual Media department. Both are based in ASCAP's Los Angeles offices.
