With Expansion Into More Than 3500 Cities In 3 Months, At The Pool Is Breaking Through At SXSW

At The Pool, a Los Angeles-based technology company launched a new app last November to connect friends offline. After being featured as the #1 new social app in the iTunes App Store and growing its member-base to more than 120 countries and 3500 cities, At The Pool is connecting friends together this year at SXSW.

"At The Pool has made more than 3 million introductions between local like-minded members through the web platform alone, and if we've learned anything it's that social discovery just doesn't work. It's a nice concept, but in reality we don't want to meet a stranger just because, for example, they like the same music and they're nearby," stated Alex Capecelatro, At The Pool CEO.

At The Pool's mobile app puts the focus on friends. Through the app, it's easy to see what's trending nearby, and which of your friends are involved with that specific activity. With relevant content, an attractive UI, and a rapidly growing global network, At The Pool is a fun and easy way to see what your friends are doing right here, right now.

At The Pool is the best way to connect with your friends at SXSW, and the app won't drain your iPhone's battery life. Location-specific information is relevant to individuals and their friends, so it makes sense to know when your friend arrives in Austin, and which show they are seeing first.

Notable companies like Twitter and Foursquare got their big break at SXSW. It's a tech-infused hotbed where movers and shakers go to experience the next "big thing." The big hype last year was "Social Discovery" with companies like Highlight and Circle gaining a lot of attention. To date neither has taken off.
