SoundHound Introduces New In-App Music Consumption Option In Japan
SoundHound Inc., the revolutionary sound search company, and RecoChoku, the largest provider of digital music in Japan, announced that the two companies have entered into a partnership that will allow SoundHound users on Android devices in Japan to purchase discovered music directly from the RecoChoku store.
"SoundHound's popularity and growth continues on a worldwide scale and we embrace the opportunity to partner with local music providers," said Kamyar Mohajer, Vice President of Strategy and Planning at SoundHound Inc. "RecoChocku has become one of the premier sources of music in the Japanese market and we are pleased to offer to local SoundHounders yet another option to take their music discoveries forward."
RecoChoku is the largest provider of downloaded music in Japan, the world's second largest music market, and is backed by all the major music labels. As a result of this partnership, Android users in Japan that discover a song and arrive at the Results page will now see the option to purchase the track from the RecoChoku store.
