GoGirlsMusic Partners With Concert Window For SXSW Invasion
Austin, TX— SXSW 2014 — GoGirlsMusic has joined forces with Concert Window to be the webcast partner for this year’s GoGirls Invasion at SXSW. Madalyn Sklar is the founder of GoGirlsMusic.com, the oldest and largest online community of indie women musicians. She also hosts a weekly chat series every Thursday on Twitter. #ggchat has grown exponentially in the past year. This is the 5th year in a row of the webcast and Madalyn brings an amazing assortment of female artists to Austin every year. Concert Window is the perfect platform to show off their talent. GoGirlMusic is always on the cutting edge of technology – and Concert Window is at the forefront of the live streaming race. It was a wonderful synergy, since both are champions of the artists and music. Musicians for Musicians Madalyn first heard of Concert Window while hosting her weekly chat series, #ggchat on Twitter. Someone had mentioned them several times and she became interested to learn what all of the buzz was about. Madalyn reached out to Dan Gurney, the President of the company. Dan explained the Concert Window platform - dubbed "The Netflix for Live Concerts" by TechCrunch, Concert Window allows musicians to play a show into their laptop, and it allows fans from all over the world to tune into fantastic live concerts. Concert Window lets both artists and venues reach a much broader fan base with a simple web system that streams real time, live events into people’s homes (or offices or kitchens, wherever they choose). It also provides an increased revenue stream for musicians – the online ticketing is simple and affordable, with two-thirds of the price going to the musician and venue. Dan and his partners are moving music forward and bringing the artists with them. They get it. “He’s very cool and easy to work with. Very hands on too, which I love. It’s run by musicians which is always a big plus in my book.” (Madalyn Sklar) Invasion of the GoGirls at SXSW You can get a front row seat right in your own home this year to watch the entire Invasion of the GoGirls Showcase webcast via Concert Window, March 13-15. A portion of all ticket sales will be donated to The Red Thread Movement. Or find GoGirlsMusic in person at Austin Java (1206 Parkway @ 12th & Lamar). The all ages show runs 6-10p Thursday, 11a-10p Friday & 11a-6p Saturday. All times are CST.
