RCA Internet Music System With Integrated Android Tablet Merges Best Of Internet Radio, Online Video, CD Music And FM Radio In Powerful Bookshelf Audio Package
Entertainment continues to change, and RCA home audio products are also changing to match consumer habits with the RCA Internet Music System - a unique product that offers a combination of Internet streaming capability, traditional CD and FM radio playback, and even Bluetooth and HDMI connectivity to other devices.
"The RCA Internet Music System delivers an experience way beyond conventional bookshelf audio systems. It seamlessly links personal music and video libraries with network-delivered choices"
The RCA Internet Music System (Model RCS13101E, PHOTO here) is an evolutionary product grown from RCA's long-standing expertise in audio and recent introductions in the Android tablet market. The new RCA System combines a 7" Android tablet and a bookshelf stereo unit for a unique entertainment experience. Compatible with most popular Android music and video apps, the system allows users to stream their favorite audio entertainment from the Internet, view and listen to online videos by connecting a TV, and even take the Android control tablet to another room to be used independently or control the system's speakers.
"The RCA Internet Music System bridges the gap between a streaming tablet device and the stand-alone shelf music system. With the combination of a quality tablet and a premium sound system, the consumer gets the best of both worlds. The tablet can be used for individual enjoyment independent of the sound system, or it can be wirelessly paired to the powered sound system to fill the room with music or a TV or movie soundtrack. Best of all, it's an affordable option for consumers wanting a device that can play CDs, stream Internet music, surf the Internet, and play online video content," said Stephen Jorge, Vice President of U.S. Retail Sales for Alco Electronics, the licensee for RCA-brand tablets and audio products.
Versatile Android Tablets Dominate Market
Research firm Gartner recently reported that worldwide tablet sales grew 68 percent in 2013, with Android capturing 62 percent of the market. Tablets represented 90 percent of overall ultramobile sales in 2013. Android grew 127 percent and reached the No. 1 position in 2013.
The RCA Internet Music System with removable Android tablet (4.2 OS) capitalizes on this tablet trend, allowing users to wirelessly enjoy Internet music via Bluetooth, while also checking email, browsing the web, or downloading apps from the Google Play Store. The RCA System includes HDMI output for viewing online video and also includes a built-in CD player, FM Radio, and connections for playing content stored on USB drives or SD cards.
RCA System Bridges Physical and Virtual Music Libraries
"The RCA Internet Music System delivers an experience way beyond conventional bookshelf audio systems. It seamlessly links personal music and video libraries with network-delivered choices," says Richard Doherty, research director at ENVISIONEERING. "Users can enjoy the surprises and variety that comes with Internet radio, as well as play their favorite CD's and FM channels. It's a great bridge for digital music on disc and digital music from the Internet. Simple to set up and very easy to use, it is equipped with far better speakers than most traditional Internet music players. The system's two 20W speakers sound great!"
More than half of online Americans enjoy some type of Internet Radio programs, according to a 2013 survey by Edison Research and The Streaming Audio Task Force. The Consumer Electronics Association reports that industry sales of compact audio systems are up 18% over the past three years, with bookshelf-type systems maintaining a spot in one-in-four U.S. households.
"The RCA Internet Music System allows the consumer to take full advantage of wireless music trends, whether enjoying music from a smartphone or listening to online Internet Radio or video. The addition of a removable tablet further extends the entertainment experience, giving consumers the flexibility to choose their favorite channels wherever they go in the house," Jorge said.
