North Jersey Notes: Saints Of Rebellion, Sekond Skyn, Madysin Hatter and More!

One group that I’d love to see make their way up north soon is this band out of Forest Hills, Maryland. Yeah, they’re not from Jersey, but they are one band that needs to play in Jersey because I think they’d be a hit and there’s already quite a buzz built around them. The name of the band is Saints Of Rebellion, and they’re pretty damn good! I got to hear the title-track off of their upcoming debut CD, New American Dream. This song hits hard and is just straightforward rock ‘n’ roll with lots of energy. I’d love to see these guys on a bill with Killcode or even Panzie*. The best way to describe their music is anthem rock. Singer Coby Deshazo’s vocals really hold it down and guitarist John Adams will remind you of Zakk Wylde with his guitar squeals. There’s a lot to like about this band.

Saints Of Rebellion formed only last year by drummer Rych Green and bassist Jay Hitaffer. The band wasn’t complete until Adams and Deshazo were added to the lineup to replace the original guitarist and singer. Coby and John came into the band with some of their songs, but also tweaked some of Rych and Jay’s songs, and these tracks ended up on New American Dream, which the band says melds together all of the influences of each member of the band. Saints Of Rebellion’s music packs quite a punch that anyone will be able to identify with. As they state in their bio, “New American Dream is a culmination of years of songwriting combined with the life experiences of the four very different musicians.” The end result is recorded energy and intensity that really showcases what this group is all about.

Saints Of Rebellion’s debut CD, New American Dream, is typically just an introduction to the band, who are making it a goal to make a giant impression on the music industry with their music and their brand. The guys in Saints Of Rebellion don’t care if they have to gather one fan at a time or many fans at a time. Their point is they’ve arrived and nothing is going to hold them back!
