A Stage To Shine At Encore 2014

Bookmark and Share

For youths aged 12 to 25 with a dream to become the next singing star, here is the best opportunity to perform and get discovered! nEbO and Timbre Music Academy are looking for new talents with Encore, a platform that will bring youths one notch up their potential to dazzle with their vocal prowess.

Last year, six nEbO members got the chance to perform at Switch by Timbre with their resident band, making some nights a very special showcase of fresh talent. The final winner, 20-year-old Justin Chua, had taken part in various competitions since he was 14 and views every performance as a stepping stone to hone his skills, but the Switch experience was an extraordinary one for him, "This competition by nEbO gave me an exposure like never before! I do not have my own band and performing at Switch gave me the experience of singing with a live band, not to mention the wonderful mentorship at Timbre Music Academy." Justin would be 'jamming' with The Switch Gang for a three-month gig every Tuesday, from 1 April 2014.

nEbO and Timbre Music Academy are looking for solo acts. Youths keen on participating simply need to send in a YouTube video (no longer than five minutes please!) of themselves performing either a cover or an original composition. The song can be performed a capella, or accompanied with a minus one backing track or instrument. Video entries submitted must be recorded live and the audio should not be dubbed or edited. The very important date to take note of is 31 May 2014. This will be the last day of submissions of both the registration form and YouTube video link.

Thirty youths with the best video entries will be shortlisted for a live audition on 12 July 2014 where they will have to perform two songs for a panel of judges. 12 finalists will be chosen to undergo four individual lessons with Timbre Music Academy and perform at a monthly showcase from August to January 2015 at Timbre @ The Arts House or Switch by Timbre. The final two winners will be awarded a coveted three-month residency contract. Do you think you belong on stage? Submit your entries today!

Contest name: Encore 2014
Submission deadline: 31 May 2014
