SoundExchange Announces Key Executive Leadership Promotions

Bookmark and Share

SoundExchange announced two key promotions within the company's senior management team. Anjula Singh, Senior Vice President of Finance and Administration, is promoted to Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Colin Rushing, General Counsel, is promoted to Senior Vice President and General Counsel, effective immediately.

These promotions come as SoundExchange royalties are now having a significant impact on the digital music economy, reaching more than $2 billion paid since inception to recording artists and record labels.

"I am pleased to announce the well-deserved elevations of both Anjula Singh and Colin Rushing who have proven track records of delivering solid results for our organization. Both are dynamic leaders whose vision and passion have helped drive the growth of SoundExchange, and of the industry," said Michael Huppe, President and CEO. "SoundExchange experienced tremendous progress over the past 10 years. I'm confident that, in their expanded roles, both leaders will continue to contribute to our success into the next decade."

"I am honored to be appointed as SoundExchange's CFO. This is an exciting time at SoundExchange and I look forward to participating in propelling the work of the organization, while acting as a financial steward for our organization and industry," said Singh.
"SoundExchange plays a critical role in the digital ecosystem, and its mission is one that I fully embrace," said Rushing. "We are at the forefront of protecting artists and record labels in this changing landscape and ensuring that all music creators are treated fairly. I'm excited about my expanded role, and the opportunity it presents to serve the music industry."

As Chief Financial Officer, Anjula Singh has more than 20 years of experience in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and audits. Anjula began her career as an auditor at KPMG L.L.P., a global audit, advisory and tax services firm. Prior to SoundExchange, Anjula served as Director of Corporate Accounting for The AES Corporation, a global Fortune 200 affordable energy company.

As Senior Vice President and General Counsel, Colin Rushing will oversee legal proceedings and handling the regulatory and legal issues necessary for SoundExchange's daily operations. Formerly General Counsel for SoundExchange, Rushing helped expand the organization's international presence and increase regulatory and advocacy initiatives on behalf of the creative community and more.

Before joining SoundExchange, Colin was an attorney at WilmerHale in Washington, D.C., where his focus was intellectual property and media law.
