AUSTRALIAN SINGER-SONGWRITING STAR OWEN CAMPBELL SIGNS U.S. DEAL WITH RECKLESS GRACE MUSIC
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

BRADENTON, FL (April 4, 2014) – Hot Australian blues-rock singer-songwriter Owen Campbell is the newest artist to sign with Reckless Grace Music, with plans to kick off a U.S. summer club and festival tour to promote the U.S. release of his latest CD, The Pilgrim, on June 3, 2014.
In Australia, Canada, and New Zealand, The Pilgrim topped iTunes blues charts in 2013 and helped Campbell earn finalist honors on 'Australia's Got Talent' in 2012. Campbell recently toured club dates in the U.S., and is set to open for John Mayer, Elvis Costello, Steve Earle, and the Doobie Brothers at the Deniliquin Blues & Roots Festival April 19-20 in New South Wales, Australia. He returns to tour the U.S. in early June.
"Owen's first and second CDs really did well in Australia, and we're really impressed with his music and his work ethic," said Peter Gatti, co-founder of Reckless Grace Music. "We really liked the blues-rock appeal to his material, and the audiences he played for in the U.S. were captivated by his music and natural charm."
Music journalists compare Campbell's sound with blues-influenced legends including Van Morrison, The Band, Delbert McClinton, some Led Zeppelin, and even Johnny Cash, Campbell's original compositions combine driving southern rock, soulful ballads, and gritty blues with his rough-hewn, smoky vocals. It's a powerful blend that earned Top Ten honors for three tracks from The Pilgrim, the follow-up to his successful 2011 debut, Sunshine Road.
Onstage, Campbell brings a veteran busker's energy and enthusiasm as he delivers gravelly, powerful vocals, shifting effortlessly between lightning finger-picking riffs and lap slide guitar.
"The cool thing about Owen is that he can go out and do a solo gig in a small venue, or play a big festival like Deniliquin, and the audience reaction is pretty much the same," Gatti said. "Sixty seconds into his first number, the phones come out and people are shooting video. At the end of the set, they're lining up to buy Owen's CDs. Audiences get it; Owen's an original."
Campbell's just as thrilled to bring his music to U.S. audiences.
"I've been very fortunate in the U.S.," he said. "Audiences are enjoying themselves and things have gone very well. Partnering with my team at Reckless Grace gives me space to build and grow, and learn what works best for the audience."
Campbell begins a U.S. tour in Los Angeles on June 3.
