OpenAura Opens Platform To Content Owners

Website: http://www.openaura.com
SAN FRANCISCO, California— April 16, 2014 — OpenAura, the platform that aggregates and syndicates authentic artist identity content, is now open to professional content owners worldwide. Starting today at openaura.com, content owners can contribute images and other content to an artists' Digital Aura and tap into a new distribution channel and revenue stream.

The first content owners to join the platform include: The Associated Press, Beggars Group (4AD, Matador Records, Rough Trade and XL Recordings), Exclaim!, FILTER Magazine, Getty Images, !K7, The Orchard, PictureGroup, Pitchfork Media, and Sony Music Entertainment.

Professional content owners and creators can visit openaura.com and apply to become a content partner, at no cost to them. Once approved, they can submit content to any artist via the platform’s upload and management tools, making that content available for artists to curate into their Digital Aura. Artists are also now able to upload their own exclusive content through the platform's free tools. This high quality collection of premium, social and artist-owned content is made accessible to apps and services through the recently launched OpenAura API. 50% of the revenue earned from the service is shared with the content owners and artists who partner with the platform.

“With the addition of Content Partners to our platform we’re moving towards our goal of aggregating and syndicating the richest, most authentic set of artist-identity content available. This is the first marketplace that connects content owners to the artists that inspire their work for exposure and distribution directly to fans through the many places where they experience entertainment," said OpenAura founder and CEO Kevin Arnold. “We look forward to working with these leading content owners and professional creators everywhere to enable a new revenue stream and distribution channel for their content and to power the next-generation of artist-fan experiences online.”

“Artists from our labels have always created strong visual identities, so being able to extend this directly into music services is a big step forward,” said Simon Wheeler, Digital Director, Beggars Group. “This will enable services to deliver a richer contextual experience to music fans - OpenAura is creating new commercial opportunities and fan experiences that will add more value to the digital landscape.”

“OpenAura gives Pitchfork the ability to extend our images and reviews to our readers based on the artists they follow," said Chris Kaskie, President, Pitchfork Media. “There’s no better audience for our content than the fan when they are listening to and thinking about the artists we write about. We’re excited to be a part of the platform and help enable more engaging and modern fan experiences online.”
The premium content contributed by content owners and artists to OpenAura complements the existing foundation aggregated from social sources. This launch completes the introduction of the platform’s suite of core components: aggregation and curation tools for artists, upload and management tools for content owners and APIs for syndication to apps and services. OpenAura is available to content owners starting today. For more information and to get started, visit www.openaura.com/contentpartners.
