Mark Thomas - Taming The Monster

Mark Thomas from the band Circle7 is known for being brazen, brash, and straight forward. Lately however fans have noticed a change. Has the monster been tamed? According to Thomas himself, maybe.

Having a chance to sit down with Mark, the question had to be asked. We wanted to know if he feels that his personality has changed and if so, why.

"I think it has a little. I'm still me no matter what though. Everyone goes through moments of change and enlightenment and they realize that changes need to be made for a happier life."

Mark has recently expressed the disappointment he has felt with the way people perceive him. He said "I have perpetuated an image of myself that causes people to see me in less than a positive light. I am very opinionated on very unpopular topics. I feel strongly about them but I'm very well aware that it pisses a lot of people off."

Surprisingly, Thomas' reason for his change is a combination of a lot of things. "I want people to see me for me and not what they think I am. That is important for my own happiness and important for other reasons. What not many people know is that I have 5 kids now and a loving woman in my life. I don't want them to be ashamed of what people think of me."

Mark seemed a little shy about saying much about the kids but said "Yeah I have to admit that there is something about 5 little faces who look at you as your superhero. You don't want to let them down. My girlfriend Amy has also done a lot to change my outlook on things. I not only want them to be proud but I certainly wouldn't want my sons or my daughter taking the heat for something I may have said or done."

So for now it seems that the monster has been tamed at least a little. Mark has said that his aggression will be more apparent on Circle7's upcoming album and assured us that the monster has not been completely tamed.
