Award-winning Singer-songwriter Ronny Morris Releases Video 2 Of 3-part Video Series To Save The Arctic

NEW YORK, NY - April 23, 2014 – In continuing his quest to save the arctic through his music, award-winning recording artist Ronny Morris releases today his second music video of his three- part video series entitled “Built to Last”. The video depicts various scenes of the Arctic melting and other footage shot by Greenpeace to demonstrate the dire effects of global warming. Morris’s song, “Built to Last” which serves as the soundtrack for video, was released on April 7, 2014 from his debut album entitled Sweet Silence, and all revenue from the single will go directly to Greenpeace in support of their mission to declare the Arctic a global sanctuary.

Unlike his first video which has a softer tone showing Morris walking through Los Angeles in a polar bear suit, this second video of the trilogy has a sharper edge portraying oil spills, glaciers melting and real polar bears floundering amongst melting snow mounds. Also unlike the first video which has the original pop version of the song, a remix version of Morris’s song “Built to Last” by popular DJ/Producer Michael A.M. accompanies this second installment. The song has a total of eight remixes by other artists such as Ganga, Leon El Rey and Rich Morel, aka Pink Noise, a DJ with over 25 #1 songs on the the Billboard Dance Charts.

Ronny Morris, who is an avid proponent of Greenpeace, is thrilled and honored to partner with Greenpeace, Spotify, and YANGAROO, a publicly traded digital media management company who is distributing Morris’s videos in seven languages to over 3,000 video media outlets worldwide to spread awareness of this global issue. ”The Arctic is melting faster than anyone could predict. Due to climate change, an entire region is under threat. I hope this campaign will help open people’s eyes to the great danger we are in. Hopefully, some will even join the movement to protect the Arctic,” says Ronny Morris. “Being that the U.N. Secretary General has recently traveled to Greenland to inspect the consequences of global warming should definitely raise concern for everyone.”

Birgitte Lesanner, Head of Communications in Greenpeace Nordic, is pleased to have Morris join their prestigious lineup of musicians who have joined over 5 million people worldwide who have petitioned for saving the Arctic. ”We’re grateful for Ronny Morris and Spotify's support to the Arctic campaign. The livelihood of the unique wildlife in the Arctic is changing rapidly. However, the very same oil companies that caused the ice to melt in the first place do not see it as a warning sign. Unfortunately they see the melting ice as a business opportunity. Only a strong global movement can stop the Arctic oil rush,” says Lesanner.

The Save the Arctic campaign works for a ban on offshore oil drilling in the Arctic region, a stop on unregulated and destructive fisheries in the Arctic and a global sanctuary on the uninhabited area around the North Pole.

Ronny Morris’s music has been featured in award winning films and major American TV shows such as One Tree Hill, Brothers Sisters and Ghost Whisperer and was recently honored with two HMMA awards. Remixes of his songs are available on more than sixteen compilation CDs sold in 52 countries worldwide, including the world renowned Buddha Bar Compilation.
