Shazam Announces Appointment Of Lauren Zalaznick To Shazam Board Of Directors

Shazam, the world's leading media engagement company, announced that respected industry pioneer, Lauren Zalaznick, has joined the Shazam Board as an independent Board member. Ms. Zalaznick's extensive experience working in the television and film industries, including her tenure as Executive Vice President NBCUniversal, will add additional expertise and strength to the company.

During the last three years, Shazam has successfully expanded its service in North America to include television programming and advertising. Shazam-enabled advertising has now been launched in Europe, Australia and Latin America and the company plans to further expand its offering in the coming year. Ms. Zalaznick's strategic knowledge and deep operating experience will be a major asset in the development and execution of these plans.

"Shazam is uniquely positioned to build on its leadership role in music, further enabling its 90+ million active consumers to deeply engage with television content and brand offerings in dynamic ways," said Ms. Zalaznick. Shazam now has over 450 million users, of which 90 million use the service each month. Recently, Shazam announced its innovative Auto Shazam feature that it enables users to automatically identify music, television shows and television adverts without having to press the Shazam button on their devices making it far easier to engage with content and brands.
