Citizen Zero Headlines The Magic Bag With Guests SuperLast And Bulletproof Snow
Citizen Zero, one of Metro Detroit’s fastest rising rock acts, will headline the Magic Bag Theatre along with alt-rockers SuperLast and 2013 Rockstar UPROAR winners Bulletproof Snow on Saturday May 3rd, 2014. Doors are at 8pm, and tickets are just $10 at the door or $8 in advance via the Magic Bag box office or Ticketweb.com. Ages 18+ are welcome to attend. The show is presented by On The Rocks Detroit and sponsored by Tito’s Handmade Vodka and Showtime Detroit Clothing.
Having most recently played shows with Kid Rock (as openers for two of his 2013 DTE Energy Music Theater concerts), and with The Rockets (at their December 2013 ‘comeback’ show at the Fillmore Theater), Citizen Zero has since spent the majority of their time at Rustbelt Studios in Royal Oak, writing and recording new music with producers Al Sutton and Marlon Young (Kid Rock’s longtime recording engineer and lead guitarist), along with contributions from Herschel Boone (Kid Rock’s backing vocalist) and Vinnie Dombroski of Sponge. Fans who attend the May 3rd show will be the very first to hear the new music and will be able to get their hands on two of the new songs.
This event promises the same commanding live show and addictive brand of musicianship and stick-in-your-mind melodies that Citizen Zero is known for, but longtime fans will also notice a new direction, mainly due to a natural maturation of sound that the band has developed since playing their first show together in 2011, and also due to the new writing duo of lead singer Josh Mayle and lead guitarist Sammy Boller (these are the first songs recorded since Sammy joined the band in summer 2012.) Longtime fans of CZ will enjoy the same high-energy rock show that they've come to expect, while the new music will also appeal to a whole new audience.
Alt-rock band SuperLast, which includes former Hardcore Pawn reality TV star Rich Pyle on drums, call themselves a “classic example of life mimicking art”. The five experienced Detroit musicians came together for a studio recording project, which became a CD release "American Lunatic," and the musicians became the band SuperLast.
2013 Rockstar UPROAR winners Bulletproof Snow are four Livingston area teens who are attracting attention around southeastern Michigan for a hard-driving brand of rock which they describe as “Foo Fighters meets Skid Row”, and musicianship that belies their tender ages.
The Magic Bag is located at 22920 Woodward Avenue in Ferndale, Michigan. For ticket information please call the box office at 248.544.3030 or go to Ticketweb.com.
