Recently designated as a Creative Ambassador for the City of Austin, SaulPaul, will be performing and accepting a Music Proclamation at Austin City Hall Thursday, June 12th at 5:30PM. The City of Austin’s official SaulPaul Day 2014 will be the launch of his SaulPaul +SocialGood Summer Tour in partnership with the United Nations Foundation.

SaulPaul transitioned from being a social misfit to doing social good and now he is a Musician with a Message. Performing live to over 100,000 youth annually through advocacy organizations, in correctional units, and at schools, SaulPaul encourages “education not incarceration” to at-risk youth. “Using his tasteful rhymes and freestyle raps, SaulPaul incorporates his unique style with his guitar and loop pedal; his powerful voice and brings his inspiring message to the world.”1

From prison incarceration to college graduation, SaulPaul shares his story, “Tower to Tower,” through music around the globe. SaulPaul graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Convergent Media degree from the School of Communications. Now, he actively encourages positive decisions for positive results spreading his message through live performances, keynote presentations, hosting events such as the Music Career Expo, as author of the book “Dream in 3D,” and through his mobile gaming app, “SaulPaul: Dream In 3D.”

The SaulPaul +SocialGood Tour in partnership with the United Nations Foundation hopes to bring unique expertise and ability together to make a global impact for social change. SaulPaul +SocialGood Tour will include music festivals and youth conferences nationwide such as Safeway National Capital BBQ Battle in DC, Orange County Fair, Summerfest in Milwaukee, and Cutting Edge Music Festival in New Orleans.

The United Nations is the one international organi¬zation with the reach and vision capable of solving global problems, and builds campaigns and partnerships to connect people, ideas, and resources to address international issues such as reduce child mortality, empower women and girls, and promote technology innovation to improve health outcomes.

The United Nations Foundation links the UN’s work with others around the world, mobilizing the energy and expertise of business and non-governmental organizations to help the UN tackle issues and engage youth through programs like Global Classrooms®, GirlUP, and Nothing But Nets.
