ANNIE STELA’S NEW ALBUM, "WHIPLASH BLUES," IS AVAILABLE NOW
Los Angeles, CA, May 22, 2014 — Michigan-born and Los Angeles-based songstress Annie Stela’s second full-length album, Whiplash Blues, is available now on iTunes https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/whiplash-blues/id869005573.
Whiplash Blues delivers a soulful and soaring collection of dynamic, deep, and diverse pop music. It's immediately honest and heartfelt, which is exactly what you will find in the track “Love Me Still,” a song about hope and love, and Annie’s debut music video from the album. The video was directed by Ramaa Mosley, and exhibits her knack for storytelling through the dusty Mohave Desert within Southern California. Watch the video for “Love Me Still” here: http://youtu.be/pw1T9xXez0Y.
The first track unveiled from the album, "Lucky," opens the doorway into the record with an impressive melodic refrain and resounding, airy instrumentation. The emotion and passion are indicative of what's to come on the full tracklisting for the follow-up to her critically acclaimed debut, Fool.
You can stream the full album through MSN’s “Listening Booth” here: http://music.msn.com/music/listeningbooth/ or through Speakers in Code’s audio player here: http://bit.ly/as_wb_sic.
Whiplash Blues, released on May 20, 2014, was mixed by Mike Mogis. The album finds the singer/songwriter telling personal stories about others rather than about herself, as she did on her debut album, Fool. Originally signed to Capitol Records when she was 22, Annie played countless shows across North America and toured with Joseph Arthur, Ron Sexsmith, Bright Eyes, Paolo Nutini and Damien Rice.

“I love the way Stela's voice drifts into the distance during the chorus, and the way her piano carries it away to a world we haven't yet met.” – Speakers in Code
“"Lucky" is a slow piano ballad that showcases her soft melodic voice. It is one of those songs that just sets a perfectly relaxing mood and worth a listen!” – Filter Magazine
