Breaking Indie Music (BIM) Hosts Executive Suite Series Of Live Online Pitch Sessions In June

Breaking Indie Music, an online site that is a platform for music talent and a resource for executives looking for talent, hosts the Executive Suite, a series of online demo listening sessions beginning June 3rd with Kevin Black, owner of U Can Fly.

Black is a former senior executive with Interscope and Warner Bros. Records whose legendary promotions prowess has contributed to the successes of Dr. Dre, Madonna and Gwen Stefani˜to name a few. "I am not looking for what's happening today, I am looking for what's happening tomorrow," Black warns.

BIM, which focuses on licensing music of the talent drawn to its site, launched on May 9th. During the pre-launch promotions, the company quickly became a valuable asset to artists and executives like Jerry Howson of Los Angeles-based label Barbarian/Universal. "It's been great working with BIM," says Howson, who is in the initial stage of talks with several acts. "The quality of artists coming through is very impressive."

The standout talent includes California-based DeAngelis 808, a production/writing duo tapped by Howson. "BIM contacted us on a Saturday about our music," Eric DeAngelis recalls. "On Monday we spoke with Jerry and it went amazingly well. We highly recommend BIM if you're ready for the next level."

BIM's Executive Suite sessions are designed to give singers, songwriters, musicians, producers and rappers of all genres direct access to executives in an arena where unsolicited material is rarely accepted. Additionally, the sessions give participants a glimpse into the minds of those who can catapult their careers.

"The ability to be flexible and reinvent one's self is very important in this business," says guest Rick Aaron of Aaron Entertainment, a 15-year veteran who has worked in A&R for Thump/Universal and Radio One and has promoted concerts featuring Pitbull, The Game and Lil Jon. "Just look at artists like Madonna, R. Kelly and LL Cool J. Reinvention has been instrumental to their careers."

Guests often offer feedback that helps the participants make adjustments to their songs, vocals and presentations. This input can enhance their chances of succeeding on a playing field simultaneously leveled by and cluttered by the Internet which offers "the dream" to a seemingly endless stream of hopefuls. BIM acts as a filter.

Also slated for June is 40-year veteran Jay Warsinske of Activate Entertainment who has been pivotal in the launch of the careers of U2, Metallica, Janet Jackson and Sublime. Warsinske is founder of the Indie Entertainment Summit (IES) being held in Los Angeles August 6-9th.
