Leading provider of staging solutions, Technical Stage Services Ltd (TSS) successfully put a dB Technologies line array through rigorous tests at the York Minster Easter baptism service and were so impressed with the results they have just bought a full DVA T8 line array system with matching subwoofers from CUK Audio.

TSS has grown considerably in the last twelve years to become a prominent supplier of sound, lighting, video and rigging to events ranging from festivals, and product launches through to conferences. The company purchased eight dB Technologies DVA T8 Line arrays after they passed a practical test during the traditional Easter service at York Minster with flying colours. Dr. John Sentamu, The Archbishop of York, conducted open-air baptisms in a specially erected pool outside the Minster. Worshippers of all Christian denominations were able to participate in this historic custom as the service was broadcast using the dB Technologies array.

The dB Technologies DVA T8 is the high output version of the highly successful DVA T4 line array module from dB Technologies. Since its launch in 2007 the DVA T4 has sold over 27,000 units making it one of the most successful models of line array in the world – with the increased output capability, onboard DSP and remote control and monitoring capabilities, the DVA T8 is set to follow solidly in the footsteps of the DVA T4.

The system is designed with flexibility in mind; three boxes can be used in a conference situation and more added to suit larger venues and events with 12 modules per side being combined with DVA T12 for a number of recent gigs at the Hammersmith Apollo. The rigging footprint of the DVA range is the same on all modules making it easy to mix the DVA T8 with the T4 and T12 as the application and venue requires.

Dan Dawson, TSS Director said ‘We chose the T8 system because it provides great flexibility and clarity whilst being compact and easily transportable. The ability to remotely manage each box via RDNet allows for quick and easy, yet accurate, setup and monitoring of the entire system.’
