Musician Collaboration Web Site Seeks To Gather Funds To Complete Software Development

Bookmark and Share

Aside from the Indiegogo campaign, Soundslates will launch its new web site June 12 - followed by a social media blitz June 15

The new online community Soundslates.com helps bring together musicians of various skill levels and music companies, bridging the gap between amateurs and professional artists. Rather than a promotional venue, the site helps musicians find others with which to collaborate. Soundslates has launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise $40,000 by July 7 to complete its software development.

On Soundslates.com, musicians will be able to make their own profiles and be given ratings so that music companies and other musicians can search by ratings as well as advanced filters to find the right sound. Professional musicians can post their services to the marketplace and foster a music-related side income rather than working outside their profession during non-peak seasons. "The marketplace will enable musicians to sell their material, including sample packs, loops, scores, songs, or lyrics," said Soundslates CEO Pierre Seylan.

In addition to the online community and marketplace, Soundslates.com also offers a new tool for musicians. A new digital studio software Vapor is a cross-platform software that is simple enough for a beginner to use but powerful enough with a familiar interface for professional musicians. "Rather than replace a musician's favorite software, Vapor is designed to enhance music software," said Sevlan. "It can be used offline or online and allows users to compose music on the same software simultaneously." The site also offers a mobile app to allow users to manage their Soundslates account from anywhere.

Contributors to the crowdfunding campaign will receive perks, such as an early copy of the Vapor studio software and a one-year membership to Soundslates.com. Contributors giving $500 will get an early copy of Vapor and a one-year membership to Soundslates.com for them and five friends. At the $1,000 contribution level, donors will early copy of Vapor and a one-year membership to Soundslates.com for them and 10 friends. Contributors giving $5,000 will be able to sponsor any music organization with 50 free Soundslates.com memberships, and those giving $10,000 can do the same with 150 free memberships.

Following the June 12 web site launch, Soundslates will also launch a June 16 Thunderclap social media campaign aiming to reach 250 supporters. Thunderclap will send a timed Facebook, Tumblr, or Twitter post from all Soundslates supporters, which will create a wave of attention for the new web site where musicians worldwide can share their visions and help support one another. "The social media campaign will help spread the world about the launch of Soundslates.com so we can attract as many musicians as possible to collaborate on our platform," said Seylan.
