Red Idle Rejects Sign With Colt Records Nashville

Steve Bowling—front-man and song-writer for the Red Idle Rejects—and J.K. Coltrain—President of Colt Records in Nashville, TN--announce that Colt Records has signed the Red Idle Rejects to a distribution deal for the Red Idle Rejects CD Where the Lonely Reside.
Distribution to radio and internet stations of the first single from the CD—Mean Dry County—has begun. Touring in support of the CD release will begin in late summer with an August 1 show for the city of Frankfort, KY and an October 4 show as the headliner for the Festival of the Horse in Georgetown, KY. Commitments to continue the tour into next year have been secured at four more festivals, dates and venues TBA the first of next year.

The Red Idle Rejects band name was born when Steve Bowling brought the tunes that make up Where the Lonely Reside to the other members of his group—Red Idle—and they were rejected for being “too country”. Later, however, these tunes were recorded by the group, the result being the current CD and the moniker Red Idle Rejects.

While the 10 tunes on the CD stand alone as quality individual pieces of work, the CD in its entirety is also a concept piece in that the tunes on the CD tell the tale, in a general respect, of the Appalachian who moves to the city only to discover the heartache—but ultimate triumph-- found therein.
